The music for Rajnikanth's next movie Padayappa is of course by Rahman .Music composer ( or should it be copier !!! ) Deva was reportedly to have said that he was the music composer for Padayappa and that he had 60 - 70 tunes ready in hand .

But it turned out to be just "castles in the air " !!!

Also , Rajnikanth himself was supposed to have gone to Rahman's house and invited him for the movie . Normally Rajnikanth just faxes the people chosen .

Rajeev Menon , the director of Minsaru Kanavu had earlier said in an interview that for his next movie , Rahman was obviously the music director . True to his word , he has indeed booked Rahman for his next movie - Theekul Kaiyai Vaithai starring Prabhu Deva , Aishwarya Rai .

The rumour which had been spread through a satellite channel that Ilayaraja was the next music director for Shankar's next movie turned out to be just another fib . The MD for Shankar's next movie - Mudalvan is again Rahman . The artists are Arjun and Manisha Koirala .
