Tonnie Guitar
I'am an old jazz player and fan,
but young at heart
I've played the guitar since I was 12 years old.
Starting on a tenor (4 string) guitar.
After a few years I was able to buy my first (solid body)
Hagström 6 string guitar.
A few months ago I converted completely to the 7 string guitar, using a low A string.
I've been lucky to hear and see some of my own guitar heroes live!
Here's a short list:
Kenny Burrell, Tal Farlow, Jim Hall, Barney Kessel, Pat Matheny, Peter Leitch, Joe Pass, Louis Stewart, René Thomas e.a.

At about 14 I started collecting jazz guitar records, mostly bought at sales or in
a nearby used record shop (Concerto in Amsterdam). So now I have quite a collection and I have continued collecting but now of course CDs.

For many years I played mostly Gibson guitars, like: ES 175 DN, Johnny Smith JDD WR, ES-347 B.
Recently I have mainly played Ibanez guitars PM 100, JP 100 and more recently the AF 207.

For many years I played in dance bands in France, Germany, Switzerland and of course my native Netherlands. We played a lot at US Air Force Bases, mostly at NCO clubs. Then I came to Norway with a German band and stayed.

Here I have played in big bands, combos and more recently I play with a Norwegian tenor sax player as a duo. His name is Kjell Tombra. We use Jamey Aebersold's CDs and Band-in-a-Box as comp, played through a Fender Passport PA. I just received B-i-a-B's latest upgrade and I like what I've seen and heard so far. It really does swing and makes us sound like "a million". You can see our logo at the bottom.

Guitar brands
Amps I started with an amp in a portable recordplayer. Then I started with using the amp in a portable record player.
Then my dad built me a small amp.
When I first started playing professionally I bought a Gibson amp.
Later I used a Fender Twin.
More recently I have used much smaller and lighter amps like:
Polytones and Gallien-Kruegers.
I have also used some effects, but tired of carrying around some much stuff I have reduced it to only one or two. Usually only a mild echo and/or reverb and an exciter.
