Marilyn Schlossberg

(l to r: Marilyn Schlossberg, Peter Tork)
The production assistant for the Monkees show. She also helped run The Monkee fan club, set recording schedules, and became their publicist.

Bert Schneider

(l to r: Bob Rafelson, Bert Schneider)
The son of Columbia Pictures President. Bert was the financial Vice President of Screen Gems music. Bert and Bob Rafelson were the masterminds behind the whole Monkees project. The dummy in The Monkees house, Mr. Schneider, was named after him:) Bert would later work with Jack Nicholson on the film "Easy Rider"

Janelle Scott

Janelle Scott was the mother of Micky & writer of the song "Pillow Time". You can hear the demo on one the bonus selections on "HEADQUARTERS". But the entire song is on "Monkees Present" and appears again on "Micky Dolenz Puts You To Sleep"(a collection of children's lullybuys). Janelle was the one that took care of Micky's afairs through out the Monkees...brilantly. Sadly, Janelle lost her battle to breast cancer in 1995. It was very hard on Micky because she was always there for him in his sisters.

Bobby Sherman

Bobby made a memorable appearance on a Monkees episode in which he played an arrogant, self-absorbed Teen Idol, Frankie Catalina. Of course after appearing on the Monkees, he actually did become a huge teen idol, thanks to his tv show "Here Come the Brides". Last year Bobby appeared on the Teen Idols Tour with Peter Noone, and our very own Davy Jones.

Gloria Stavers

The Editor of the most influencial teen magzine, "16". Gloria helped propel The Monkees into fave rave status simply by putting them in her magazine. She actually knew and featured Davy in "16" in early 1964 when he was in "Oliver" on Broadway.

Reine Stewart

Peter's long time girlfriend in the 60s and early 70s. (I have no idea if they actually got married or not). Reine was introduced to Peter by David Crosby. She's the mother of Peter's first child, Hallie. Reine played drums and sang in Peter's post-Monkees band, Release.

Stephen Stills

Peter's lookalike and buddy for Greenwich Village, Stephen came to California and formed The Buffalo Fish, which later became Buffalo Springfield. Peter was a members of The Buffalo Fish. Stephen originally tried out for the Monkees also. He played guitar on Peter's song "Lady's Baby" and played uncredited on several Monkees songs. After Buffalo Springfield, Stephen rehearsed with his new band C,S,N for their first U.S tour in Peter's famous house in the Hollywood Hills

The Sundowners

One of The Monkees opening acts on their 1967 U.S Tour. Mike discovered them while they were playing at a small club on the Sunset Strip and signed them up as an opening act.

Vic Tayback
Vic appeared on three Monkees episodes before starring in a popular 70s sitcom, "Alice". Vic passed away in 1990.

Lance Wakely

Another one of Peter's Greenwich Village buddies. Lance was known as the best guitar player on the village. He played guitar on some excellent Monkees tunes: "Lady's Baby", "Can You Dig It?", "Long Title", "Tear the Top Right Off My Head", etc.

Frank Zappa

Hippie composer and eccentricist. Frank was one of the few "serious rock musicians" to understand and appreciate The Monkees. He appeared on one of their episodes and in the movie HEAD. Frank asked Micky to be the drummer for his band "The Mothers of Invention", but unfortunately, Micky was still under contract with Screen Gems.
