MEMORIES

Greg Matenkoski, who has donated most of the graphics for this web site, came up with the idea of having a "memories page" in which correspondents could share with us their recollections of life in the 453rd.


  • Movie File: Interview with Ed Survilla, tail gunner. You should be able to see and hear this if you have either of mplayer or Real Player??? In it he refers to his confirmed kill of an ME-109 from the "Abbeville Kids" on the return leg of the Gotha raid. Feb. 24, 1944. The kill was corroborated by gun camera and by other crews. Greg Matenkoski, the interviewer, painted this picture of the encounter.
