A message from Jimi Interval: "I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but ACCESS DENIED is no more. I am involved in two new projects: one is a new band I'am putting together as of yet unnamed with a new guitarist, a new drummer, a new bass player, and a keyboard player. this band will play classic rock covers, as well as a few CAPTAIN BEYOND songs and some originals. the new band might be named after something from LORD OF THE RINGS, since I'am a big fan of the movies. The other project is a guitarist who wants to put an all original band together. with me a drummer and the bass player from ACCESS DENIED. This band is unnamed also. I'll keep you posted on things."

In the meantime promo packs of the band had been distributed up & down the coast with promising results. In the new year ACCESS DENIED will be branching out all over FLORIDA. People are loving the band.

New shows...
On Sunday, OCTOBER 12TH from 10pm to 11pm ACCESS DENIED will play at a club called COYOTE'S in PORT CHARLOTTE. It?s located in the SCHOOLYARD SQUARE MINI PLAZA on the corner of 41 & KINGS HWY.
There will be three bands there that night: ACCESS DENIED, 1925 &
CARNIVAL OF SOUL. The show starts at 9:00 pm and will be over by 12:00 pm. Each band plays for one hour. 1925 is the first band on, then ACCESS DENIED, then CARNIVAL OF SOUL last. A local radio station by the call letters 99X is promoting it. it's a eighteen and up show. This means that venue access for people under eighteen will be denied!
On Friday, NOVEMBER 28TH ACCESS DENIED will be back at BANDITTO'S in ENGLEWOOD.
Sometime in DECEMBER ACCESS DENIED will be back at the PORTSIDE, we will give you the exact dates, when we get them.
ACCESS DENIED - News September 2003 :
In memory: BRUCE WAIBEL
BRUCE WAIBEL, the bass player who almost joined CAPTAIN BEYOND in 1999, was found dead in his Florida home. No word on the cause of death - it's pending an autopsy. Bruce was also in FIREHOUSE for a few years and departed from that band in 2002. Bruce Waibel passed away on September 3rd.
Jimi Interval: "I just came back from a wake, from one of my best friends. He was the original bass player for the 1999 CAPTAIN BEYOND REUNION BAND. His name was BRUCE WAIBEL. Bruce was also the bass player for GREGG ALLMANS BAND, that did the song I'AM NO ANGEL. He played bass for DICKEY BETTS and for the group FIREHOUSE. I've known him since 1979 and was the one who got him in CAPTAIN BEYOND, he was a great bass player and a great friend, who will be sorely missed. I am dedicating the whole gig we do this friday Sept. 12th to him."

The gig at the end of SEPTEMBER 26TH & 27TH @ THE PORTSIDE in PORT CHARLOTTE, FLORIDA has been changed to the 5th & 6th of SEPTEMBER now, as the club owner wants to get ACCESS DENIED in there sooner, because lots of people have been asking.

The band will be getting into many accoustic songs in their sets now. Songs from groups like LED ZEPPELIN, BAD COMPANY & DAYS OF THE NEW, some songs with the whole band and songs with their soundman RICHARD on mandolin KENNY on accoustic guitar and JIMI on vocals only. ACCESS DENIED likes to present a different side to the band, to show that they can be soft as well as be loud and rockin?.

ACCESS DENIED: Gig postponed!
The gigs at the end of August for THE PORTSIDE in PORT CHARLOTTE, FLORIDA have been resceduled to SEPTEMBER 26TH & 27TH.
ACCESS DENIED: Info on gig JUNE 7TH @ ARCADIA AMPGROUNDS
The gig this saturday is 10 dollars per person to get into
the camp grounds to see ACCESS DENIED and the other bands perform.
The 10 dollar entrance fee will only let the person stay until 11
o?clock at night then they must leave, colored wrist bands will let the
festival people know who paid what.
For non members of the ABATE SOCIETY it will cost 25 dollars extra if they want to camp for the two day affair. ACCESS DENIED will only be playing SATURDAY from 4PM till 8PM. Gates open SATURDAY at noon and the festival continues until SUNDAY EVENING.

ACCESS DENIED: Urgent... a NEW date for ACCESS DENIED on April 19th !
This saturday APRIL 19TH ACCESS DENIED play a gig called *BIKES & RODS SPRING FLING* at the CHARLOTTE COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS, located at State Road 776 West of US 41.
Gates will be open at noon. ACCESS DENIED will not get on stage until 6:30 pm and will play until 8:00 pm. Being the last band to play, after 6 other bands performing, the promotors save the best until the end.
In addition to this, if that ain?t enough, the event promises: things for kids to do, kids under 12 get in free. They are showing new and custom bikes, muscle cars, 50/50 & door prizes. Admission is 5 US$ per person.

ACCESS DENIED got rave reviews everytime they play. So here they return...
... on AUGUST 23, ACCESS DENIED is playing a concert with five or six other local bands from 8:30 pm until 10 pm @ CHUBBY'S. The gig is for the american cancer society and the festival goes all weekend long, but ACCESS DENIED only plays FRIDAY NIGHT. This gig means a lot to singer Jimi Interval, because he lost his grandmother to cancer.

The band will enter the recording studio, sometime this month or next to record some originals, one written by the soundman (!).

Originally we wanted to put up the press article covering the above listed festival at Chubby?s on the 23rd, but... (read on: this exclusive article by frontman Jimi Interval!)
WHO IS RUNNING OUR LOCAL NEWSPAPER?
Right before the section of the local
newspaper called LETS GO was ready to go to press, the senior editor of
the paper said, that he didn't think it right to promote a biker event and
pulled the whole article. Little did he realize that this was a event
for the AMERICAN CANCER SOCITEY, put on by the bikers. The senior editor
said, that this coast is a retirement coast, first off retired people
drive bikes also. And bikers do alot of good for the community like TOYS
FOR TOTS at CHRISTMAS TIME, where they go all over and collect toys for
children, who have to spend thier CHRISTMAS in a hospital.
I personally
want to thank all the people, who came out and supported our band and all
the other bands, who donated their time, for a great cause. Without this
a***hole's promotion, the event was a success. So the next time this
nimrod turns something down, he better check his facts first and get his
foot out of his mouth and his head out of his a***.

ACCESS DENIED: Gettin? ready again
ACCESS DENIED plays its first gig saturday June 15th (a outside gig in front of 8 to 9 hundred people) with new bass player BRIAN CARPENTER. Brian is a bass teacher in southwest Florida and plays all types of music from cuban, jazz, rock, blues, latin & country. He's a very versatile
musician having shared the stage with many national acts, such as THE
ALLMAN BROTHERS, FOGHAT & RICK DERRINGER. We are very proud to have him
on board with the ACCESS DENIED BAND. HANK has semi-retired from the
music business after a very serious motorcycle accident, the whole band
wishes him well in his recovery and future.
ACCESS DENIED is back and more gigs are on the way, details as they become
available.

ACCESS DENIED plays its first gig in JUNE of this year. HANK the bass player will be fully recovered from his accident by the middle of April and the band is taking all of May to rehearse, to get tight again. More info a.s.a.p.

New bass player for ACCESS DENIED
The new bass player is HENRY HOLBROOK, also known as HANK. Some of the road bands he was with that he travelled
across the country with were FREE FALL and PHANTOM OPERA. These two road bands did many tours of Florida and opened for such stars
as MOLLY HATCHET, PAT TRAVERS and many others. He is originally from Kentucky and has lived in Florida since the early 1990's.
He and JIMI have been in many different bands together in the Florida Area. Hank also sings
lead vocals as well as plays bass guitar. Says Jimi Interval: "It's great to have him
playing with me again, he's such a great musician and a very funny guy".
