Teese (info on Charlotte 72 and Spartanburg 76/77 gigs), LeDog (for info on Kansas City 73 and Lawrence 77 gigs), Mark Berrier (for info on Dallas 77), the very loyal Captain Beyond fan (for the pictures of the Florida gigs in 99), Dan Shepard (info & pics of Lakeland 2000 gig), R Michael Horan (for info on Indianapolis 73) and from messages on some websites and other reports about some show of Captain Beyond.

Rhino played a great solo with a talk box. They even had a large mirrored ball come down from the very top of the coliseum to bounce the light around. Rod sounded great, as did the entire band. Ken Krochmal: "...of course, Captain Beyond was the feature act, and all I remember, musically, is that we were completely blown away by their set. Rhino was wearing a coonskin hat, and was playing some incredible stuff. My recollection of this night is one of extensive use of a mirrorball and other lighting, a theramin, and some incredible music. This night was an amazing, watershed musical event in our young lives, which we will never forget."

Frank G. Holliday: "...they where greatdoing all the first album and selected cuts off the second. A lightermoment during their show, was when Rhino (who was wearing a head band)shook his head and the head band fell down over his eyes like a blindfold. He never missed a lick as he got rid of his "blindfold". I sitin front of Lee Dorman, of course since I am a bass player too, but since we had got there at around 5 that afternoon and had front row table; wasable to watch and enjoy the whole show. Bobby's hair was so long, hehad it pulled back with 3 rubber bands spaced down the lengths of hisponytail. I believe their first song was Distant Sun. Been a long timebut am very glad to have watch them perform during that period..."

Tim Shockley reports: "...a friend and I had first row, in front of Lee Dorman. Other than them being awesome, I remember Lee having many problems with his bass or amp that night. Also remember watching Bobby Caldwell closely. He would do drum rolls while turning his left hand from palm up (standard) to palm down (match) all in one motion! LeDog reports: "I remember that show clearly. The band was over an hour late taking the stage, and we were scared shitless they werent gonna show. But right after they took the stage, Lee Dorman started the riff for Distant Sun and away we went! Bobby Caldwell was playing an unusual set of drums whose brandname escapes me, but the ride and floor toms flared at the bottom, almostresembling a tuba!
