Some time, some place -- perhaps many years from now -- someone who was once the person I am now will look across a room and see someone who was once the person you are now. And in that instant, they will know that once, long ago, they had been friends. None of the memories that we now share will have survived the shift in time. Only the love we shared will remain -- and
that will be enough.
To Vicki...Although we were born cousins, you are my best friend, we grew up together and your thoughtful nature, love of fun, laughter and the many wonderful times spent together, in childhood through to womanhood that we shared, will stay with me always.*Remember Cold Duck and Hurstville station?* To Maureen...You always knew me so well, my kind, gentle, loving friend. We shared much together - our families, children, great times. I knew I could always depend on you, no matter what the situation, you were there to listen, laugh or sympathise. A true soulmate. *Remember "How iz ya?"* To Geraldine...The jolly joker, always larger than life, you can always make me double over with laughter when reminiscing about old times. Always! You were the wild one when we were young, always the first to try something good or bad, but what a special woman you have become. I admire you and am proud that you are my friend. The girl with the most beautiful smile in the world. *Remember 32a, 34b, 36c?* To Jenny...Although we didn't see each other so often as we used to, it didn't matter. From the moment we would meet again it seemed as if we had never been apart. You were inquisitive, always interested to know what had been happening, always fun, never afraid to speak your mind "about anything". I will always love that about you and will keep you in my heart always.*Remember Granny's pad?* To Suellen...My first female American friend. We have only met once, but spoken many, many times and I feel as close to you as if I've known you forever. You are such a great listener and confidante, never one to judge, always so thoughtful and helpful. Everyone on IRC loves you...a truly special "LADY" :) *Remember LA airport...you drove 3 hours to keep me company, then 3 hours back. Are you the greatest or what?* To Sandi...The "girlfriend". We have never met face to face and I've only heard your voice one time, but we know each other so well anyway. Always ready with a kind word or two or three. Full of wisdom "quoted often I might add" lol! You are the e-mail queen! I appreciate having you for a friend, someone I know who will always be there for me. *Remember the swinging ashtray?* To Stripe...Another girl I've never met and you are back in Australia, right where I used to live and I didn't get to know you well until I had moved away. Ironic isn't it? You are one of the sweetest people I could ever hope to know, and one day I hope we do meet, whether over here or there. I have met and spoken to many people on IRC, but sometimes we meet someone truly special, and that's what you are to me. *Remember the hot bread shop...I can still smell those italian rolls :)*   |
