BIOGRAPHY
The band known as Pantera all began back in 1983,
formed by Darrell and Vince Abbott, With Rex and Terry Glaze on
vocals. The same year, their first album, "Metal Magic"
is released. This album basically failed. Just 1 year later,
Pantera released "Projects". Again the record sold
poorly. In '86 Phil "bad ass" Anselmo joined the group
and has an immediate impact. They released "Power
Metal", this album sold well and had a large underground fan
base. In 1990 Pantera signed a major record deal and released
"Cowboys From Hell", their first major record. After
this more great records followed. In 1997, Suicide Note Part I
was nominated for a Grammy for best metal performance. Through
the years Pantera has went against the grain of American music
and has made some of the heaviest music in the era. Pantera will
certainly go down as one of the best
"Pure Against the Grain of American Metal"
