Zbirka polifonih skladbi

(Collection of polyphonic compositions for accordion)

Sometimes you come across people that are just too good to be true. Croatian accordionist Marijano Atanaskovic sent me his book of classical pieces arranged for accordion and asked me to just post it on the web for free!

Of course I couldn't resist that, so here it is. Hope you like it :-)

About Marijano

Marijano Atanaskovic was born in 04.04.1960. He works as an accordion and synthesizer teacher at a music school in Labin, Croatia. Marijano graduated in music theory and pedagogy at the Music academy of Pula. Beside classical music he has also played keyboards in a pop-rock band.
Marijano Atanaskovic has written two books: "Accordion for beginners" and "Collection of polyphonic compositions for accordion".

Preface to the book

Here is a rought translation of the preface in case some of you don't read Croatian:

The Collection of Polyphonic (but not only polyphonic) Composition was written to supplement emptiness in music publishing of polyphonic music for accordion.

Also, another reason was those permanent borrowing, photocopying (and mostly donating) books to the pupils, which at the end finished without any trace. As a teacher in music school I join my experience in teaching and my interest in editing music on PC, and with a little help from my friends from other music schools I select these polyphonic and baroque compositions.

Every piece has marked finger position for Baritone Bass (BB) thanks to Prof. Marija Crucić-Brajković, then finger position for Standard Bass (SB) and marks for bellows (,). Teachers can chose any register available on accordions they use.

All those suggested marks are not rules, they are only little help for pupils and teachers.
