Let's face it. When was the last time you saw a Queensr˙che video on MTV? An Anthrax video? Ok, what about the more "streamlined" bands, like Warrant, Poison, and Guns n' Roses? Thought so.
Besides a couple of "alternative" bands that could fit the "alternative metal" mold without ripping off Nirvana, Pearl Jam, or Alice In Chains, heavy metal is pretty much dead to MTV. And it's up to us consumers and bands to bring it back. The Great Metal Takeover is a movement led by very capable and hard working people; people that have received an overwhelming response but could still use your help.
The plan is rather simple. Visit MTV's comment page and tell them you want more heavy metal videos on the channel (imagine watching Headbanger's Ball again!). But do it intelligently...that's what we all have a brain for.
