Moody Blues at Bath .

Rained out !
I should think this band were both moody and blue after the Bath weekend, because they were the only band of the entire festival line-up who did not get to perform. Arriving by helicopter to beat the crowded roads, they were thwarted by the foul weather on Monday morning .

The rain that forced Jefferson Airplane offstage in mid act after Paul Kantner had received a mild shock from the vocal mic - and which resulted in The Byrds performing acoustically in the early hours - had still not stopped and as a result the band could not be guaranteed a safe working environment if they plugged in.

Reluctantly they were forced to cancel and it was Doctor John who finished the festival off in the grey dawn of Monday with a Gris Gris acoustic set.
