A message from Nigel Glockler. He wrote this to the promoter for SOB
Dear Ian, regarding your rally 20 22 August, you have obviously been given misleading
information re. your headline act Saxon.
Firstly, this is not the "kosher" Saxon with Biff Byford, Paul Quinn, Doug
Scarrett, Nibbs Carter and myself! Secondly, my name is mentioned on your
flyer as being part of this bogus line up and I want you to know that I have
absolutely NOTHING to do with this act!!
Therefore, I would appreciate it if you would delete my name from any
advertising from now on!!! Kind regards,
Nigel Glockler April 1999
We would like to appologise to our fans in America, who where disappointed about the cancellation of the shows in
November. This was completely out of our control, because once again, the American immigration people took
much longer to issue our visas then expected. We have now missed the window of opportunity to replace the shows
this year. Because of us starting to record a new album.
Once again, We'll make it up for you next year! Keep the faith, Metalheads forever!
Signed, Biff. 21st of November 1998.
A message from Paul Quinn: 'Great page Wally (that's me!!); great readers: rock on & keep the faith.' Paul Anthony Quinn, 30 May 1998
Attention Saxon fans in South America! Let us know if you saw any press for SOB gigs which may have confused readers into thinking of Saxon gigs.
Any info is appreciated as we know that this kind of trick is annoying fans every where and we would like to put an end to it. Don't take no bullshit, Unleash the beast. And thanks to the genuine fans that came to Santos and Sau Paulo shows in 1997. See you again soon.
Saxon- May 1998
Fans are warned that there are rumours of a band about to tour South America under the name 'Saxon'. We would like to inform everybody that, in fact SAXON are in England at the moment writing songs for their next studio album and will break only to take the Unleash The Beast tour to the USA in March. Therefore, any band touring the South of America i.e. Brazil, Argentina, claiming to be Saxon, can safely be labelled BULLSHITTERS or PHONEYS, and we strongly recommend that fans avoid paying for tickets to such shows.
It's also been reported that a band are to release an album called 'Son of a Bitch- The Original Saxon'. This is NOT a Saxon album. Unfortunately there will always be phoney or bogus C.D.'s produced, claiming to be genuine Saxon albums, and 'Son of a Bitch- The Original' is just another phoney, A FAKE!!
Please let this site know if you have any problems. See you on the road, Unleash your Beast!
Saxon, March 1998
Saxon release their Unleash The Beast album in the U.S.A. on 4 October and look forward to touring there in early 1998.
After playing Texas in 1995 and '96, it's clear that there's still a huge following here. This Town Knows How To Rock!
The 'Beast' is also released in Japan on 31 September with dates there likely in mid 1998 and in the U.K. on 15 September,
where they have just played a killer headlining show at the annual Hell's Angels 'Bulldog Bash' festival.
Having already released the album elsewhere throughout Europe, Saxon have enjoyed touring the 'Beast' playing to over
250,000 and giving the crossover festival crowds something to think about, igniting the Metal spirit within all Hardrockers!
It's been a kickin' year again and looks to get busy.
Whilst we're talking kickin', guitar player Graham Oliver was kicked out of Saxon in January 1995 for a number of reasons
(interesting only to those who like hairdressing or trainspotting etc etc). After being sacked, he got together with some friends
and formed a band called Son Of A Bitch (S.O.B.). This is O.K. and quite ordinary, BUT there is a problem. They are
advertising many of their gigs as Saxon shows, which for real fans is very annoying and expensive. So, having successfully
taken the situation to court recently, we should have an end to this small joke very soon. However, beware of the bogus Saxon
gigging in your town and if you have any problems, let us know.
