Christmas Love (Part 1)

Shania sat on the floor wrapping presents and trying to keep Madison interested in Frosty The Snowman which was playing on the television. She was at her second family's home babysitting Madison, who she considered to be one of her nieces. Since the loss of her parents just over 2 months ago in a tragic car accident, the Richardson's had been so kind to invite her into their home for Christmas this year. Shania had been friends with Kevin Richardson through all of high school. It had been 4 years since she had seen him. She had accepted a job in New York City 4 years ago and moved away from her home town of Lexington, Kentucky. She of course had been watching Kevin in his rise to fame over the past several years. She never told anyone that she knew him, but she boiled over with pride whenever she heard one of their songs or saw one of their videos. She was kinda nervous about seeing Kevin again after all these years, but she was also very excited. All of Kevin's family was going to be there for Christmas this year. Shania had been staying with the Richardson's for a few days already and had the opportunity to spend some time with Kevin's brother Jerald and Tim. She looked over at Madison to see that she had rested her head on the pillow and had drifted off to sleep. She decided to finish wrapping the present and then she would take her up to her room.

In the mean time, Shania did not hear the front door open. She also did not notice Kevin standing in the hall watching her. Kevin stood there in awe. Was that the same Shania that he went to high school with? Why was he surprised, she was now 26 years old and he was 27. He seemed to recall his mom saying something about an old friend joining them for Christmas, but he knew she never mentioned that it was going to be Shania. He decided that instead of standing in the hall staring at her, that he had better go in and say hi. So he took his coat off and hung it up in the hall closet. Kevin stopped for a second and wondered why he had a nervous feeling in his stomach. He had known her for years, so what reason was there for him to be nervous? He pushed the thought out of his head and headed into the living room.

Shania thought she heard something in the front hall, but just assumed that it was either Jerald or Tim coming home from work, so she didn't think anything of it. But then all of a sudden there he was, standing in the doorway looking down at her. "Well, well well. Shania it has been a few years hasn't it." Kevin said in his deep sensual voice. Shania's first reaction was to get off the floor and throw her arms around Kevin. She felt like she was in high school again. As Kevin took Shania in his arms, she noticed right away that it felt different. She pulled away quickly. She wondered if Kevin felt it too? It almost felt like a jolt of electricity. Kevin looked back at her confused and said, "Cat got your tongue?"

"No of course not Kevin, it has just been so long since I've seen you, and we weren't expecting you tonight." Shania said as she went to go check on Madison. As she did this, Madison stirred in her sleep and opened her eyes for a brief moment. It took Madison a few seconds to register who she just looked at, but within seconds she was wide a-wake and screaming, "Uncle Kevin." She quickly got off the floor and flew into Kevin's arms.

"Hey there Pumpkin, how's my favorite niece doing?" Kevin said as he placed a soft kiss on her forehead."

"Your silly Kevin, cause I am your only niece." Madison said as she wrapped her arms around his neck one more time.

Kevin pulled back with a smile and his face and looked Madison in the face and said, "When did you become so smart?" She just giggled and once again gave him a hug.

"I was just about to put her to bed when you came in Kevin." Shania said as she observed Kevin and Madison.

"Well, I don't want to keep you up past your bedtime, but why don't I take you up and read you a bedtime story?" Kevin said to Madison.

"Yah, can he Shania?" Madison said with a big grin on her face.

"Of course he can sweetie." Shania said as she picked up her pillow and blanket and handed them to Kevin.

"I'll be back down in a while, don't go anywhere." Kevin said as he started to climb the stairs.

Oh trust me, I'm not going anywhere Shania said to herself as she sat back down on the floor and continued to wrap presents.

Twenty minutes later she got a nervous feeling in the pit of her stomach as she heard Kevin descending the stairs. "Well, she is finally out like a light." Kevin said as he entered the room. He came in and sat down on the couch opposite Shania and asked, "Where is everyone?"

"Jerald and Tim are still at work and your mother is out doing some last minute Christmas shopping. Your mother asked me to watch Madison and wrap some presents while she was out." Shania replied.

"Well I think the presents can wait. Why don't you join me on the couch so we can catch up." Kevin said as he patted the couch. He watched Shania finish wrapping the present she was working on and lift herself off the floor. She joined him on the couch, but he noticed that she sat down at the opposite end of the couch.

"So how ya been?" Shania asked as she crossed her legs and got comfortable.

"Busy is the only word I can use to describe it, but I am sure we both know what I have been up to. I want to hear what you did when you moved to the Big Apple." Kevin said.

Shania went on to tell Kevin, that she had attended College, and was now working as a Network Administrator for a fair sized company. She told Kevin how much she loved her job, but also how demanding it was. She worked a lot of long hours and at times was under a lot of stress.

"That sounds a lot like my job." Kevin said while he rolled his eyes. "There is one thing that I am curious about though Shania. You normally spend the holidays with your parents. Why is that not the case this year?"

Shania quickly got up from the couch and walked over to the window. The wound was still so fresh. How was she going to tell them that they were dead? She hugged herself as she felt a chill. Then she felt Kevin's strong arms grab her shoulders and turn her to face him. "What is it Shania, my god they are alright aren't they?"

That was it, Shania couldn't hold it in any longer. She rested her head on Kevin's shoulder and just let the tears flow. Kevin took her in his arms, and just let her cry. He was confused though. Had something so terrible really happened he wondered to himself? A few minutes later as Shania's breath started to even out, he took her face in his hands and pleaded with her to tell him what had happened. Kevin wasn't sure if he heard her correctly. She had whispered something so softly. "What did you just say Shania, I thought I heard you say they were dead?" Kevin said. As soon as Shania looked Kevin in the eyes, he knew he had heard correctly. He took her in his arms again and just held her. He had so many questions to ask, but he knew that now was not the time.

Shania had excused herself to go to the washroom when his mom walked into the living room. Ann just stood there and looked at her son with tears filling her eyes. It had been so long since he had been in this house, and she just thrilled that he was there. She quickly ran over to Kevin and gave him a hug and kiss. Kevin said down on the couch and motioned for her to join him. He looked worried about something, she just hoped he was all right. "Mom, Shania and I had a chat tonight, and I need to know what happened to her parents. She was too upset to tell me the details." Kevin said very seriously.

As Shania quietly came down the stairs she could here Ann telling Kevin about her parents. She sat down on one of the middle steps where no one could see her and listened to what Ann was saying. Kevin's mother started, "Well you see Kevin, it happened just over 2 months ago. They were both coming home from having dinner with friends, when, they were struck by a drunk driver. The doctors assured us that they felt no pain. " Kevin sat there and stared at his mother with a blank look on his face. He could not believe he was hearing this. His mother continued, "Of course the whole town heard about it. You know yourself that Shania had a very small family, so I took upon myself to call her and try and break the news to her. She of course took it very hard. She was on a flight the next morning. She stayed with me here for one week while she cleaned out her parents house and put it up for sale. Unfortunately she could not stay any longer than that, because she was needed back at work. But I made her promise before she left here that she had to come back and spend Christmas with us. I did not want to see her alone during such a difficult time."

Kevin sat there silently for several moments and then said angrily, "Why didn't anyone call me? I should have paid my respects to both Shania and her parents." By this time, his eyes were filling with tears.

Shania descended down the remaining stairs and entered the living room. Kevin looked up at her with a pained look on his face. He quickly got up and threw his arms around Shania. "I'm sorry I never tried to contact you Kevin, but you guys had already had a rough year with deaths, and I didn't want to be a burden on you when I knew you were so busy." Shania said into Kevin's chest.

"But Shania, I had the right to know. Your family was like a second family to me. I should have been there to say good-bye." Kevin said as Shania cried in his arms.

Shania pulled away from Kevin and looked him in the eye as she said, "I'm so sorry Kevin. I wasn't thinking clearly at the time, and I realize now that I should have called you. Will you ever be able to forgive me?"

Kevin pulled her back into his arms and said, "There isn't really anything to forgive. I am just glad I can be here with you now. Promise me we will visit the cemetery while I am here so I have an opportunity to say good-bye." Shania responded with a nod.

****The Next Morning****

Shania rolled over and squinted as she tried to look at the clock. It said 8:36. She was shocked. She hadn't slept a full night like that since her parents death. She wondered if it had anything to do with Kevin staying with her until she fell asleep? She decided to get out of bed and go take a quick shower. She got up and put her robe on. She opened the door and made her way towards the washroom. What she wasn't expecting was to walk right into Kevin on her way there. "It does help if you walk with your eyes open." Kevin said with a chuckle. "But then again, you never were a morning person were you." Kevin joked again.

"Ha ha, very funny Richardson. You did remember that I am not a morning person, but you seemed to forget that I don't like obstacles on the way to the washroom in the morning." Shania said while trying to get by Kevin, but he was not cooperating with her.

Kevin placed his hands on her shoulders to keep her still and asked, "I wanted to make sure you were ok this morning?"

Shania lightly replied with, "I will be fine if you let me use the washroom."

"Ok, Ok. I get the picture. But I wanna talk to you today." Kevin said as he let Shania by.

Shania did not reply, because she was not looking forward to the conversation. She knew what he wanted to talk about and she didn't feel like talking about it anymore. She took a long hot shower hoping to calm her nerves. Why was she so nervous? She didn’t understand why she was feeling so different around Kevin.

On hour later she slowly descended the stairs and walked into the kitchen. She saw Kevin sitting at the kitchen table reading that day's newspaper, but she walked past him. She opened the cupboard to get a glass.

Kevin watched Shania as she poured herself a glass or orange juice. Kevin did not sleep well that night because he kept thinking about how difficult the past two months must have been on Shania. He didn’t know whether to mention something to her or wait until she approached him. He decided at that moment, that he would speak to his mother and find out where her parents were resting so he could pay his respects. He did not feel like dragging Shania along if she was not ready. He watched Shania sit down at the opposite end of the table. He decided to try and get some conversation going by saying, "Are you feeling better after your shower?"

"Yes actually I am feeling better today. I cannot explain why, but last night was the first full night sleep I have had since…." Shania trailed off and turned her head to look out the window. Shania decided to just go back up to her room, but as she walked past him, he grabbed her arm to stop her from going any further. She looked back at him hoping that he would just take her in his arms and take the pain away.

Kevin saw the pain in Shania’s eyes as she looked back at him and said, "Don’t shut me out Shania. I want to be here for you. I offer my shoulder to cry on." As soon as he said that, he felt the tension being released from her arm and he took her in his arms. She totally lost it at that point. Kevin led Shania into the living room and sat down with her on the couch.

A few hours later Shania went to go roll over but found that she couldn’t. When she opened her eyes she realized that both herself and Kevin had fallen asleep on the couch. She must have woken Kevin up as well, because he was now looking down at her smiling. She rested her head on Kevin’s chest once again. She felt so warm and safe in his arms. A few minutes later the telephone had startled both of them. Kevin got up from the couch and walked into the kitchen to answer the telephone.

A few moments later Kevin walked back into the living room and sat down beside Shania. "Do you feel up to doing anything today Shania? That was my cousin Brian on the phone, I am sure you remember him. He has invited us over to his place for the afternoon." Kevin said, hoping that he could convince Shania to go with him.

"Of course I remember Brian, and that sounds like fun. Just give me some time to make myself more presentable and we can go anytime." Shania said as she got up from the couch and went up the stairs.

Kevin made his way upstairs not to long after Shania did. He quickly jumped in the shower to try and wake himself up. Fifteen minutes later Kevin made his way downstairs and found Shania watching television. "What took you so long?" Shania kidded lightly as she got up and turned the television off. Kevin just stood there and watched Shania put her shoes on then she said, "What ya waiting for?"

Kevin quietly put his shoes and coat on and they both left the house without saying a word to each other. Why did it seem like they were old pals sometimes, but moments like these where he could feel tension in the air? Kevin tried to push the thoughts out of her head as they got into the car. It was only a short ride to Brian’s place and Kevin started reminiscing about his childhood in Lexington. Specifically about the years he was great friends with Shania. "Look over their Shania. Do you remember all the times we went skating there in the winter and swimming in the summer?" Kevin said.

"Yes I remember those years all to well Kevin. Sometimes makes you wish you could go back to that simple life again." Shania said as she watched the park go by.

"Shania, if you are not up for an afternoon at Brian’s, we don’t have to go." Kevin said noticing the hint of pain in the last comment that she made.

"No Kevin. It has been even longer since I have seen Brian. Plus I need to get out of the house. " Shania said while she looked over at Kevin and tried to convince him that she was alright. A few minutes later Kevin pulled into a driveway and Shania was is awe. "I remember going through this neighborhood as a child and always dreaming of having a house here. How were they able to afford a it?" Shania asked, completely forgetting the success that they had achieved.

"Shania, you haven’t forgotten that as a group we have been just a little successful have you?" Kevin said.

"Oh yah of course. How could I forget about The Backstreet Boys!" Shania said as she got out of the car and just stood there looking at the house.

"Well are you just gonna stand there Shania, or are you gonna come and give me a hug." Brian said as he opened the front door and saw Shania standing in the driveway.

Kevin came up behind Shania and grabbed her hand and said, "Come on silly, you can come back out and look at the house later if you would like."

They walked up the driveway and Brian greeted her with a hug. "Long time no see Shania. How ya been doing?"

Shania looked back and Kevin and realized that he had not told Brian about her parents. She decided that it was best that he didn’t know about it right now, cause she just wanted to relax and forget about it that afternoon. "I am doing ok Brian. It is great to see you again. I don’t know how long it has been since I have seen you." Shania said as she handed her coat to Kevin so he could hang it up.

Kevin walked up behind Shania and put his arm around her. He had a feeling that Shania was struggling to seem upbeat, so he wanted her to know that he was right there with her. "The walking calendar here can probably name the date off the top of his head." Kevin said as they all laughed.

"Well I am afraid to say that I don’t remember the exact date, but it has been at least 5 years." Brian said as he lead the two of them into the living room. "Would you two like something to eat or drink. My mom just made some sandwiches if you guys are interested."

"Yah I am kinda hungry." Shania said as she sat down on the couch. As soon as Brian had left the room, Shania turned to Kevin and said, "I would mind if you didn’t mention my parents this afternoon. I just wanna try and forget about that this afternoon and have some fun."

"If that is what you want, then that is what you will get." Kevin said as he sat down beside Shania on the couch and started tickling her. Shania squirmed under Kevin’s touch and they both stopped all of a sudden when Kevin’s hand brushed up against Shania’s breast. She looked Kevin in the eyes and then Kevin lowered his lips towards hers and lightly brushed his lips against hers.

What am I doing, Kevin thought to himself. As soon as he realized what he was doing, he quickly took his hands off Shania, and moved over on the couch a little bit. He looked back over at Shania and saw that she looked as confused as he was. "I’m sorry about that Shania. I don’t know what came over me." Kevin said, as Brian walked back into the room.

"What did ya do Train? Kiss her?" Brian said as he the sandwiches and sodas into the living room. Brian could see the glare he was receiving from Kevin, and decided just to leave it alone. But he hoped deep down that they were interested in each other, cause he knew how much happier Kevin would be if he had a woman in his life. "Lets see, my mom made Turkey, Ham, Egg and Salmon sandwiches. Help yourself. I’m just gonna go get some potato chips and I will be right back.

Both Kevin and Shania reached forward to grab a sandwich and they both stopped and looked at each other when their hands touched. They could both feel the spark of electricity that traveled through them as they touched. Shania quickly withdrew her hand and waited for Kevin to grab some sandwiches.

For the rest of the afternoon, Kevin and Brian brought Shania up to speed on what was happening with the group. She was thrilled to here some demos for the the new album. They also played some pool in Brian’s rec room. Shania started off watching Kevin and Brian play, and then they convinced her to play a game against Brian. She was never any good at playing pool, but she decided to give it a shot. On Shania’s first shot she completely missed the ball, and Kevin and Brian couldn’t help but laugh. Kevin made his way over to Shania, and gave her a few pointers on how to hold the cue and the right angle to hit the ball. For a brief second, she wasn’t even listening to what Kevin was saying, she was just enjoying the feeling of having him so close. When Kevin moved away from her, she was able to snap out of it. She was amazed, because she took a shot and actually got a ball in the pocket. Both Kevin and Brian gave Shania a high five. Shania actually almost won that game against Brian.

A short while later, Kevin looked at his watch and said, "We had better be getting back home Shania. My mom is pretty adamant about us being there for dinner tonight."

"Yes you are right Kevin. I’m just going to the washroom and then we can hit the road." Shania said as she made her way up the stairs to the main floor.

Brian sat down on one of the chairs on the other end of the room and said, "You like her don’t you?"

Kevin looked at Brian with a shocked look on his face and said, "I do not Brian."

"Okay Kev, whatever you say. But you too seem pretty tight, and I am not sure what happened in the living room before lunch, but whatever it was it was pretty intense." Brian said casually.

"That was a mistake." Kevin said as he started to head upstairs.

Brian yelled up after him, "Why does it have to be a mistake."

Shania ran into Kevin as he was walking towards the front door and said, "Where are you going in such a hurry?"

"We really should be getting home Shania." Kevin said as he walked past her.

"Well we will get going as soon as I have an opportunity to say good-bye to Brian. I will be back up in a second." Shania said as she disappeared into the basement. She looked around and saw Brian watching television. She walked over to him and said, "I want to thank-you for a great afternoon Brian, and I hope that we will see each other again before you guys head back to Orlando."

Brian got up from the chair he was in and gave Shania a hug. Did he dare say anything to her about what he saw going on this afternoon? "Shania can I ask you a question?" Shania nodded. Brian continued saying, "Is there anything going on between you and Kevin?"

Shania stopped and just stared at Brian. That was a good question. She had been asking herself that same question all afternoon. "I don’t know what is going on to tell you the truth Brian. I will let you know when I figure it out myself."

"Well Shania, from what I saw this afternoon, I kinda suspected that you guys might like each other. I hope you don’t mind me sticking my nose into your business, but I want to see Kev happy and I think you are just what he needs." Brian said.

"Nah, you're not being to nosy Brian. But I am not sure if it would work out between the two of us anyways." Shania said as she turned towards the stairs.

"Don’t rule anything out Shania. You and I both know that Kevin is a great guy. You should give him a chance." Brian said as he held onto Shania’s arm.

Before Shania started to climb the stairs, she looked at Brian and said, "I will think about what you have said Brian."

What Brian or Shania did not know, was that Kevin was listening at the top of the stairs to their whole conversation. Why was Brian doing this he wondered? Shania and him were only friends, how could they ever have more than a friendship he wondered to himself.

****After Dinner****

A few hours later, Shania was helping Ann with the dishes in the kitchen. All the boys had got comfortable in the living room and were waiting for them to start "Miracle on 34th Street". When Shania walked into the living room, she didn’t see Kevin in there, so she just automatically went and sat down on her favorite loveseat. A few moments later when Kevin walked back into the room, he took the opportunity to sit beside her. He had been doing a lot of thinking since they left Brian’s place and he was starting to wonder if a relationship between the two of them was possible. He put his arm around Shania’s shoulders and was pleased when she rested her head on his shoulder.

Two hours later when the movie had finished, they were all sitting in the living room discussing the events for the next day. Shania suggested that Kevin and herself take Madison skating at the park up the road. Madison got all excited when Shania said that, and planted herself between Kevin and Shania on the loveseat. They let Madison stay up a little longer before Ann took her up to bed. Within the space of a few minutes, everyone had left the living room and Kevin and Shania were the only ones remaining. Shania started to get up and said to Kevin, "I think I am going to go for a walk before heading off to bed tonight. Would you like to join me?"

"Yah that sounds like a good idea. Let me go put a sweater on before we head out though." Kevin said as he ran up the stairs.

A few moments later Kevin came back down the stairs wearing a black and green sweater. When Shania saw him, she gasped. Why was she so attracted to Kevin all of a sudden Shania asked herself. Maybe Brian is right, she said to herself as she bundled herself up.

They had only been walking for a short time before Kevin stopped Shania and turned her towards him. He looked at her with a nervous look on his face and said, "I gotta get something off my chest Shania. I overheard you and Brian talking before we left his place this afternoon. He had a similar conversation with me while you were upstairs. What do you think about it?"

Shania felt a little weak all of a sudden and reached out to Kevin for some support. He looked at her concerned and then she said, "He got me thinking Kevin. Is it possible that Brian could be right?" Just at that moment she looked up at Kevin and saw the expression in his eye's change. What was happening between them? She looked away and they both started walking again in silence. What was that she saw in his eyes. She knew what she wanted it to be, but she didn’t want to make that assumption.

They continued to walk in silence for more than a half an hour, and they were now walking back up the driveway of Kevin’s house. Kevin stopped in front of the door and turned to Shania. He didn’t say anything, he just took her face in his hands and kissed her lightly. "Does this mean we are both feeling the same way?" Shania said as she looked into Kevin’s piercing green eyes.

"Do you think it is possible for us to be more than friends?" Kevin asked.

"Not only do I think it is possible, but I want us to be more than friends Kevin." Shania said as she looked up at Kevin shyly.

Kevin took Shania’s hand and started to open the door and said, "Let’s get in from the cold." They both took their coats and boots off and went up the stairs in silence. Since their rooms were beside each other, they both stopped in front of their doors and looked at each other. Neither of them really knew what to do, so they just said goodnight and both went into their own rooms.

****The Next Morning****

Kevin got up at 10am the next morning, and slowly made his way downstairs to get some breakfast. While Kevin was sitting at the table looking at the newspaper, his mom said, "Shania is up in her room reading if you want to go up and see her."

Kevin didn’t say anything, but he did wonder why his mom was telling him this. Did Shania mention something to her about last night? He didn’t think she would have, considering they weren’t even sure what was going on. So Kevin finished reading the newspaper and escaped upstairs when his mother was down in the basement doing laundry. He knocked on Shania’s door and opened it when she told him to come in. Shania was laying on her unmade bed reading when he entered her room. When she saw it was Kevin, she quickly marked her page and put the book down. "Good morning Shania. I just wanted to come in and see how you were feeling today." Kevin said as he sat down on the edge of her bed.

"I am doing ok this morning. How about you." Shania responded quietly.

"Pretty good. I finally feel like a normal person again. I was pretty tired when I came home the other day." Kevin said.

"That’s good. I bet your schedule is pretty demanding." Shania said as she looked at Kevin. She wondered if he still felt the same way this morning or if last night was a mistake.

What Shania didn’t realize, was that Kevin was thinking the same thing. Kevin took Shania’s hand in his and finally decided to say, "I hope you didn’t think last night was a mistake?"

Shania smiled back at Kevin and moved so she was sitting right in front of Kevin. She put her hand on his cheek and gave him a light kiss and backed away to look at Kevin. They looked at each other for a few seconds, until Kevin put his arms around Shania and brought her in for a hug. He then lowered his lips on hers for the most passionate kiss Shania had ever felt.

A few moments later when they broke away from each other, Kevin parted his legs and Shania moved in closer. She rested her head on Kevin’s chest while he ran his fingers through her long brown hair with one hand and held her to close him with the other. They were both interrupted when Madison came storming into the room, screaming "When are we going skating?" with Ann right behind her. Madison jumped up on the bed with Kevin and Shania, while Kevin’s mother looked on and smiled. She had a feeling that something was happening between her son and Shania, and she couldn’t be happier to see them together.

Shania moved out of Kevin’s grip and started tickling Madison. "You wanna go skating eh?" Shania said as Madison squirmed under her touch and laughed.

Kevin smiled as he watched Shania and Madison together. She was so good with Madison he thought to himself. Kevin always wanted a large family and wondered if Shania was "the one" that he had been waiting for. He laughed to himself, realizing that she had been there all along.

Fifteen minutes later Kevin, Shania and Madison were all bundled up with skates in hand. Kevin was carrying both his and Madison’s skates in one hand and held Madison’s hand with the other. Shania was on the other side of Madison holding her other hand.

A few moments later, Kevin and Shania sat on the bench and watched Madison skate around the rink. "Are you ready to go?" Kevin asked as he took a hold of Shania’s hand.

"I don’t know if I remember how to skate. It has been years since I have done this." Shania said nervously.

"Ah come on. It’s like riding a bicycle, you never forget how to do it." Kevin said as he encouraged Shania to get up.

"Yah sure, I’ll say I told you so when I land on my butt." Shania said as Kevin helped her stand up and steady herself. He let go and skated away encouraging her to come and get him. She flashed Kevin a dirty look and pushed off. She was a little wobbly at first, but she shocked Kevin when she skated up behind him and grabbed him by the waist. "I guess you were right." Shania said as Kevin took her hand and they skated around hand-in-hand.

"I’m always right. But I bet you can’t catch me this time." Kevin said as he took off. Shania took off after Kevin, and when he wasn’t looking she cut across the center of the rink and caught him once again. "Now that was just unfair." Kevin said as they both laughed.

After another 15 minutes of skating Shania decided to sit down for a few minutes, because her ankle was really sore. The skates she was wearing were a little big and did not give her ankles proper support. She sat there and watched Kevin and Madison skate around together. They looked like they were having fun, so Shania went to go get up, but lost her balance and went over on her ankle. Kevin saw Shania stumble in the corner of his eye, and convinced Madison that it was time for a quick break. By the time they made it over to Shania, he could tell by the look on her face that she had indeed hurt herself. When he made it over to her, he asked, "Are you alright, what happened?"

"I think I’m ok. I just went over on my ankle. Can you help me get the skates off though." Shania said as she looked up at Kevin.

Ten minutes later, they were walking back to Kevin’s place. Shania was trying to hide the fact that her ankle was really sore. She kept telling Kevin that it wasn’t that bad, but she winced in pain with every step that she took. When they got back to the house, Kevin helped her take her shoes off and helped her get over to the couch. "Can I take your sock off and take a look at your ankle?" Kevin asked as he kneeled down in front of Shania. Shania shook her head, so Kevin gently took her foot in his hand and started to take her sock off. He felt her tense up as he was taking it off, and when he did get it off, it was quite swollen. "I am gonna go get some ice for your ankle. If it gets any worse, I want to take you to the hospital and have them take a look at it." Kevin said as he exited the living room.

By this time, Madison had gone to find Kevin’s mother, and she was now entering the living room. As soon as she saw Shania’s ankle, she thought it was wise that they take her to the hospital as soon as possible. Kevin came back into the living room with an ice pack wrapped in a towel. Kevin sat down on the opposite end of the couch and had Shania rest her leg on his lap. Shania winced when he placed the ice pack on her ankle.

Fifteen minutes later Shania started to think that a visit to the hospital might be necessary. "Kevin, I think maybe you should take me to the hospital. It keeps getting more painful as time goes on."

Kevin removed the ice pack and when he realized that her ankle was quite a bit more swollen, he agreed with her. Shania carefully lifted her leg from Kevin’s lap and rested it lightly on the floor. Kevin carefully put Shania’s sock back on, to try and keep her foot warm. He then went and put his coat on and came back and helped Shania get her coat on as well. He left Shania on the couch so he could go tell his mother that he was taking her over to the hospital to have her ankle checked out. Kevin came back into the living room with his mother right behind him. "I am going to carry her out to the car, can you just go out and make sure the door is open when we get out there. So his mother opened the front door and made sure that the passenger side of his Toyota 4 Runner was open for them. Kevin reached down and picked Shania up. He couldn’t believe how light she was.

Twenty minutes later, they were seated in the hospital emergency room, which was packed with people. The receptionist warned them that it would be a couple hours before she could see a doctor, but she did agree that a doctor should take a look at her ankle. Kevin was able to find 2 seats together in the corner of the waiting room, so Kevin sat against the wall while he kept his arms around Shania. After a short while Kevin was worried that Shania was really quiet, so he said, "How’s the foot feeling?" When she didn’t answer he realized that she had fallen asleep. This made him feel a little better, because the time would pass a lot faster for her. As Kevin sat there, he went over the past 24 hours in his head. This time yesterday, he was telling Brian that he was crazy. Now 24 hours later, they had both agreed to give their relationship a try. Just as Kevin was thinking that, he saw Brian come into the waiting room and started looking around. Kevin didn’t want to call out to him, at the risk of waking Shania up. Brian spotted Kevin and Shania in the corner of the waiting room and walked towards them.

"Hey Kev. I called your place this afternoon and your mom said you had to bring Shania over here cause she had hurt her ankle, so I decided to come over and see how she is doing. She obviously is a little tired." Brian said quietly, trying not to wake her up.

"Yah, we took Madison skating earlier this afternoon, and she went over on her ankle. We didn’t think it was too serious at first, but after some time, it was very painful and very swollen. So we decided that it was best to get it checked out." Kevin said.

"Well I might as well stick around and keep you company. I was getting pretty bored at home." Brian said as he sat in the now vacant seat beside Shania. "So your mom was pretty excited when I spoke to her." Brian said with a small grin on his face.

"Yah I know what your gonna say. I guess I have to apologize. You got us both thinking yesterday and we realized that we do like each other. It’s nothing serious right now, but we are going to see what happens." Kevin said.

"Ah, no need to apologize. I just got the feeling yesterday afternoon, that you guys would be great for each other." Brian said as he looked around the room.

Kevin and Brian sat there talking about their upcoming schedule after Christmas when a small kid walked by them and accidentally kicked Shania’s foot. She sat straight up and bit her lip to prevent herself from screaming. Both Kevin and Brian had their eyes on her and Shania said, "When did you get here Brian?"

"Just a short while ago. I phoned Kevin’s place and his mom told me you guys were here, so I decided to come and see how you were doing." Brian said as Shania rested her head on Kevin’s chest again.

Just as Brian finished saying that, Shania heard her name being called. It had only been an hour and they were calling her into a room already. Brian offered to help carry Shania, but Kevin leaned down and lifted her up so easily. "I'll just stay out here and wait for you guys." Brian said as he sat back down.

Shania looked over Kevin's shoulder and said, "No Brian, come on in with us. I am sure we will have another wait in there and I would hate to leave you out here alone." So Brian got up quickly and followed them into the examining room.

Two hours later they were all leaving the hospital with Shania on crutches. Kevin helped Shania get into the car and they both said good-bye to Brian. He was gonna come back over the next afternoon and hang out with them. On their way back to Kevin's place they stopped off at the pharmacy to fill the prescription for the painkillers that the doctor had given Shania. They also stopped off at the video store and with Kevin's help they picked out a few movies to watch that evening.

When they got back to Kevin's, he had to carry Shania back into the house, because the long walkway was quite icy and he didn't want to her to hurt herself any further. "Where do you want to get comfortable for the rest of the day?" Kevin asked as he helped Shania take off her coat.

"Well, why don't we just get settled in the basement. I wouldn't mind putting "Lethal Weapon 4" on and watch that now." Shania said as she leaned on the railing for support.

"I thought I heard voices." Ann said as she came down the stairs. "What did they say about your ankle Shania?" she asked

"I severely sprained it, so I am to stay off of it for 5 weeks." Shania said as she tried to shift her weight onto the crutches. "Do you mind if we go downstairs now Kevin. It is going to take me a while to get used to these crutches, and my ankle is quite sore right now."

"Oh that is too bad Shania. Are you sure you are going to be able to get down the stairs?" Ann asked with concern in her voice. "I would hate to see you get hurt again."

"I'll make sure she is ok." Kevin said as he lifted Shania up again and took her down the stairs. Ann followed behind them, with the crutches and the movies in hand. Kevin put her down on the couch and put a blanket over her feet to keep them warm.

Before Ann went back upstairs, she said, "I was not planning on making a big dinner tonight, so can I just bring some soup down for you guys?"

Shania looked up at Ann and smiled, "You know your soup is fine with me. I will never forget how delicious your homemade soup is Ann."

"Thank-you for your kind words Shania. I know what Kevin's response would be, so I will be back down with it all in a few minutes." She said before she started to climb the stairs.

Now that he had a few minutes alone with Shania, he sat down on the edge of the couch. He looked Shania in the eyes, and then gave her a short, but passionate kiss. "What was that for?" Shania said as a smile crept along her mouth.

"I just want you to know that I am here for you today. You have been to hell and back, and I guess I wanna try and make you feel better." Kevin said quietly.

"Kevin, just being with you makes me feel better. And the whole day wasn't that bad. We did get to spend it together." Shania said as she grabbed Kevin's hand and gave it a light squeeze.

Half an hour later, Kevin's mother had just come down to clean up all the dinner dishes and had brought them back upstairs. She told them that she was going out to visit some friends that evening and that they had the house to themselves for the evening. As soon as his mother was gone, he put "Lethal Weapon 4" into the VCR and grabbed the remote control. Then Kevin came over to the couch and told Shania to sit up and move forward a little. When she did that, Kevin positioned himself behind her and put one leg on either side of her. When he was comfortable he told Shania that she could lean back against him. Shania was shocked when she realized that is was Kevin's manhood that she felt against her back. It had been quite sometime since Shania had been with a man, and for some reason, Kevin's touch was driving Shania crazy tonight. But she tried to push those thoughts out of her head, and just rested her head on his chest.

About half way through the movie, Shania wiggled her bottom a little to make herself more comfortable. The same thoughts entered her mind again as Kevin brought his arms around Shania and placed them on her midriff. She secretly wished that Kevin would bring his hands up just a little higher and take her breasts in his hands. She had now lost interest in the movie, because it did not live up to the usual "Lethal Weapon" reputation. So Shania started to get restless and started fidgeting. After a few minutes Kevin noticed and asked, "Is your ankle bothering you again?"

"Actually it is doing ok. The painkillers are keeping it down to a dull roar." Shania as she moved onto her side and looked up at Kevin.

"Well what is wrong then? You seem to have lost interest in the movie." Kevin said as he looked down at her.

"I don't know. This one just isn't as good as the first three. But we might as well finish it." Shania said as she turned back around and god comfortable again. But she could not get some thoughts out of her head. All she could feel was Kevin's manhood in her back. She wondered what it would feel like if he were aroused? So she continued to fidget in the hopes that she would find out. But as the end of the movie drew near, she realized that she was not being successful at all, so she decided to give up.

A short while later the Kevin got up from the couch to remove the movie from the VCR. Shania couldn't help but admire his body while he was doing this. He stood up for a second to stretch his legs while the movie was rewinding and caught Shania looking at him with a small grin on her face. He did not know what she was trying to accomplish while the movie was on, but she was doing a good job in turning him on. He spent the second half of the movie trying to control his desire for her, because he was very well aware that she would be able to tell if he had become aroused. But as he saw her looking at him the way she was, he lost any control that he did have. He was thankful when he heard the tape had finished rewinding and bent down to put in the second movie they got, "City of Angels". When he turned around to sit down on the couch again, he was thankful again that he was wearing baggy pants. He had to convince Shania to sit in a different position for the duration of the second movie. When Kevin came to sit down, Shania sat up and moved over on the couch a little more, leaving enough room for Kevin to sit down beside her. He then put his arm around Shania's back and she rested her head on his shoulder. He had to slouch down a bit as to relieve some of the discomfort he was now experiencing. He tried to concentrate on the movie, but any control he had, was now gone out the window. All he could think about was how it would feel to touch Shania all over.

Meanwhile, Shania was thinking very similar thoughts. She thought she had noticed a noticeable bulge in Kevin's pants when he came to sit down, but she could not be sure. So she decided to take things into her own hands. She started by taking her fingers and running them through Kevin's hair, and heard a sign escape from his lips as soon as she did this. She continued this for a few more minutes in hopes that she would get the reaction she wanted.

God, is she doing this on purpose Kevin thought to himself. Or was this just a simple gesture of affection. He was not sure how much longer he could wait to find out though. So he decided to find out once and for all what she was up to.

Shania was just starting to wonder if she was just wasting her time, when Kevin looked her straight in the eye and then slowly moved closer to her started to kiss her very slowly and sensuously. Now this is what she was waiting for. She responded by thrusting her tongue into his mouth and threw her arms around his neck. In response to her reaction, he moved sideways and placed his hands around Shania's waste and deepened the kiss even further. After a short time, they both broke away from each other breathless. Shania could not miss the desire that was in his eyes now. He reached out and ran his fingers through her long brown hair and said, "Shania, if we go any further, I am afraid I won't be able to stop myself."

"Who said anything about having to stop?" Shania said seductively as she started to run her hands up and down Kevin's chest.

"So you are sure this is what you want then?" Kevin asked one more time just to make sure.

Shania moved closer to Kevin while trying to be careful not to hurt her ankle. She brought her lips close to Kevin's ears and said, "I have never been more sure of anything in my life." She then placed her lips on Kevin's neck and proceeded to kiss him in what she was hoping was a sensitive spot of his. She was pleased when she heard another sigh escape his lips. While she was doing this, she brought one hand down Kevin's chest and rested her hand on his groin. She was pleased to feel his aroused manhood, but was also surprised at its size. This set Kevin off. He grabbed the bottom of Shania's sweater and quickly brought it up over her head and threw it on the floor. Shania sat there and let him look at her for a few short seconds before she removed his T-shirt to reveal his well built torso. Kevin took one of her breasts in his hand and reached around with the other to undo the clasp of her bra. Within seconds, her bra was on the floor and Kevin took one of her erect nipples in his mouth. She moaned as he did this and ran her fingers through his hair again.

After a quick feast on her breasts, Kevin brought his lips back up to hers and said, "God, I want you", before he thrust his tongue into her mouth once again. At the same time, he slowly moved his hands down her body and started to remove her jeans. When he got down to her ankle, he was careful in removing it from the leg of her pants, and then threw them on the floor with the rest of their clothes. Her panties were not far behind. Kevin helped Shania get onto her side and then nestled his body real close to hers. He let his hands feel every part of her body before he brought his hands up the inside of Shania's thighs and found her moist pleasure point. She threw her head back as he started to caress this sensitive part of her body.

Shania couldn't just lie there and do nothing, so she reached down and undid Kevin's pants and he aided her in freeing his manhood. She took it in her hands and started pumping it very slowly. As she felt herself getting closer to the edge, she picked up the pace. As she climaxed, she released her grip on Kevin in fear of hurting him. Kevin stood up at this point and did his pants back up and said, "Don't go anywhere." He then quickly disappeared up the stairs.

Within a minute, Kevin was back in the basement. He removed his pants, placed a pillow on the floor and then kneeled down in front of Shania. She had an idea of what he had in mind so she moved to the edge of the couch. He quickly removed the condom from the package and carefully placed it on his erect member. When he was completed that, he moved a little closer to the couch and lifted Shania's buttocks to move her even closer to the edge. Then with one hand on Shania's breast, his other hand positioned his manhood and very quickly thrust into Shania's body. She let out a startled scream when he entered her, but as he started to thrust in and out, it was replaced with moans. Shania leaned back on the couch and fondled her breasts as Kevin started to thrust harder and harder. She could feel herself reaching her climax as Kevin started moaning Shania's name. She could tell that Kevin had reached his climax when he threw his head back and mumbled, "Oh my god." It did not take him long to realize that Shania had not reached her climax yet, so he reached down and once again caressed her sensitive spot, while he continued to thrust in and out. He was quite relieved when she threw her arms around his neck, threw her head back and he felt her tighten around his still erect member. He then slowly pulled out, removed the condom and cleaned up. As he did this, Shania lay back on the couch trying to catch her breath.

Without saying a word, Kevin put his pants back on and started to gather the rest of their clothing up. He then wrapped Shania up in the blanket and carried her upstairs. He was not sure what time his mother was going to be home, but he did not want her to see them like that when she did get home. He gently placed her in the middle of his bed and then closed his bedroom door. He then removed his pants once again and climbed into bed beside her. He propped himself up with his elbow and just admired the beautiful woman lying beside him. Without even thinking he whispered, "Where have you been all my life?"

Shania kinda giggled, placed her hand on his cheek and said, "Right in front of you silly." He responded with a small chuckle and gave her a very slow but romantic kiss. He then, lay down on his back and put his arm around Shania as she rested her head on his chest.

Was this love that he was feeling, he thought to himself. His heart had never felt so full and he had never been so happy and fulfilled. Without thinking any further, he pushed Shania's hair out of her face and said in a very quiet voice, "I love you Shania."

Shania reached up and placed a light kiss on Kevin's cheek and replied, "I love you too Kevin."
