Kevin
tried to sleep on the plane the following morning without any
success. He had spent all night in Abigail’s room while she
slept. Due to the sedative they gave her, she didn’t stir
throughout the night at all and when she finally did wake up
nothing had changed.
For
a few minutes, while Abigail tried to wake up, it seemed like
she had come around, but as soon as the details from the day
before flooded back, she tensed up and asked Kevin to leave
again. Kevin reminded Abigail that he loved her and would always
be there for her and he informed her that he was going back on
tour to give her the space she needed, and all she needed to do
was call and he would return to her side without hesitation.
As
soon as Kevin left the room, Abigail broke down in tears. She
hated hurting Kevin like she was, but she thought he would be
better off in the long run if she was out if his life. In
reality, she was the one that kept hurting Kevin. Maybe if Frank
believed that her and Kevin were no longer together he might
leave her alone. But as long as Frank was alive, she was sure
she would never be able to rest.
Later
that morning, Abigail sat across from Dr. Steep in his office.
He was trying to convince her to talk about the events of the
last twenty-four hours without any success. She couldn’t let
anyone know what she was up to. She felt the need to deal with
this on her own. She was positive that Dr. Steep would never go
alone with her plan if he were aware of what she was doing. No,
she had to keep it to herself.

A
few hours later, Kevin arrived at the venue feeling emotionally
and physically exhausted. He wasn’t sure he was going to make
it through the show that night, but was determined to fulfill
his responsibilities. Nick was the first person to spot Kevin
and he tipped the rest of the guys off. Before he knew it he was
surrounded while everyone talked simultaneously.
“Calm
down guys. Give him some space. This can’t be easy for him.”
Brian said. He could tell that his cousin was exhausted and
didn’t really want to be there.
“Thanks
for being so concerned guys. If you don’t mind, I’m going to
go lie down for a while. I haven’t slept since I left
yesterday.” Kevin said as he headed towards his bus. Maybe a
nap would refresh him a little and enable him to make it through
the show.
Fortunately,
sleep came easily as Kevin settled into his bunk, but it
didn’t last long. Kevin woke up startled after having a
disturbing nightmare. He buried his head in the pillow as he
recollected the details of the nightmare. He now had some idea
how Abigail felt when she was woken up from a nightmare. He
never imagined that he would crave Abigail’s touch to calm
him. He was supposed to be the strong one in the relationship,
but the fear that he had lost Abigail had left him feeling
extremely vulnerable. He decided to just get up and do his best
to try and make it through the next couple of hours. Then they
would be on the road again and he could hide out in his bunk. It
was the only private place on the bus.
Kevin
went through the motions for the next couple of hours. As he got
dressed and sat through hair and make-up, the other guys tried
to lighten his mood, but he wasn’t interested in talking or
laughing. His heart ached and at the moment he resented the fact
that he had to go up on stage and pretend that nothing was
wrong. All he really wanted was to have Abigail back in some
capacity. He could handle the separation when he knew she still
needed him, but her words and actions had left him feeling
hollow and alone.
While
he was onstage, he did his best to focus on the music and
choreography. There were several signs scattered throughout the
audience wishing him and Abigail well. He appreciated the
support he got from the fans, but if they only knew what was
really going on. Kevin missed a few cues and screwed up some of
the choreography, but couldn’t really care less.
As
soon as the show as over, Kevin made his way out to his bus.
Carlos escorted him there and told him he’d be back in about
half an hour when the buses were scheduled to depart. As tired
as he was, he didn’t feel like going to sleep right away., so
he popped in a video game and let himself get lost in the game
for a while. Any relief from his current situation was welcome.
After approximately fifteen minutes, Kevin heard someone get
onto the bus and he just assumed it was Carlos and went on
playing his game. A few minutes later the bus started to move
and he thought it was odd that Carlos didn’t come back to
ensure he was ready to leave like he always did. He paused his
game and made his way to the front of the bus. When he didn’t
see Carlos, he rushed to the front of the bus and said, “Where
the hell is Peter?”
“Oh,
was that his name? It’s a shame I had to kill him.” The man
said in a flat tone.
“Who
in the hell are you?” Kevin asked, fearing that he all ready
knew the answer.
“You’re
a smart man Kevin. I think you can figure it out for
yourself.” The man said as he broke through a barrier and
turned off of the venue’s property. Frank moved so quickly,
that venue security didn’t know what hit them.
“Abigail
isn’t with me.” Kevin said as he sat down. His weak legs
could no longer support his weight. It was going to be a long
night.
“I
know that. You’ve got her locked up in the loony bin
somewhere, right where she belongs.” Frank said.
“Don’t
you dare talk about her like that! It’s because of your sick
mind that Abigail is suffering.” Kevin exploded in anger. He
couldn’t believe that the asshole seriously believed that
Abigail was crazy.
“I
don’t think you’re in any position to tell me what to say or
do Kevin. I’m the one that’s in control of this
situation.” Frank said.
“You
all ready know that Abigail is not with me, so what do you want
from me?” Kevin asked.
“Will
you please stop calling her Abigail? Her name is Alison and
you’re going to take me to her. I’m sure you have the
authority to discharge her, so I want you to bring her to me.”
Frank said.
“Over
my dead body.” Kevin said angrily.
“Don’t
tempt me Kevin.” Frank said.

“How
in the fuck can someone just drive away with a bus without
anyone noticing?” Brian said in a panic.
“Calm
down Brian. Getting all upset isn’t going to help the
situation.” Howie said, trying to mediate the situation.
“How
am I supposed to calm down? He’s been kidnapped for crying out
loud.” Brian said, barely able to get the last few words out.
“You
heard what the police said. It’s going to be difficult to miss
a bus. They’ll be doing their best to ensure that Kevin is
found.” Howie said, trying to remain optimistic. He was the
only one that hadn’t lashed out or become extremely quiet
since they heard the news about Kevin’s disappearance. Someone
needed to try and keep everyone united in Kevin’s presence.
“Who
wants to call Abigail?” AJ asked quietly. They all knew she
needed to be notified.
“Shit,
it ain’t going to be easy telling her this.” Brian said, as
he thought about how distraught Abigail would be upon finding
out this news.
“Does
anyone even know where she is staying or her doctor’s
number?” Howie asked.
“Nope.
Kevin wasn’t telling anyone where Abigail was staying. For her
own safety I guess.” Brian replied.
“I’m
sure the police will be contacting the detective in charge of
Abigail’s case in Florida. Maybe they’ll know how to get in
touch with her.” Howie said.
“I
hope you’re right.” Brian said.
