The next day proved to be an amazing day for the group. They were all in top form and ready to hit the stage again. Abigail walked around the venue as the fans took their seats and could feel the energy. The fans were terribly upset when they learnt that the tour had been postponed due to an injury that Kevin sustained, but all was forgiven and the fans were ready to show their support. 

Abigail stepped backstage a few minutes before the group was ready to hit the stage. She found Kevin pacing back and forth with a worried look on his face. She gently took his hands in hers and said, “You’re gonna be great out there tonight Kevin.” 

“But what if they’re angry with me? What if they can’t forgive us for postponing the tour?” Kevin said, unsure of where all these doubts were suddenly coming from. 

“Kevin, I was just out there and the energy out there is incredible! The fans I did talk to are glad you’re okay. Your fans care so much about you guys. I think all your doubts and fears will be gone as soon as you get onstage.” Abigail said. 

“I’m just afraid that being away for three months was too long.” Kevin said. 

“You needed that time to recover Kevin. Don’t ever feel guilty for taking that time off.” Abigail said. Kevin was always much too hard on himself and this annoyed her to no end. But she understood that in the competitive music industry, they had to be hard on themselves, so she tolerated it and tried her best to assure Kevin that everything was fine. 

A few moments later, the boys, the band, the dancers and the crew all huddled together for their pre-concert chant. When the boys emerged from the circle, they were always extremely focused and had their performance face on. She gave Kevin a quick kiss on the cheek and a ‘go get them’ before he was gone. Abigail only had a few minutes to make it back to her seat, but she wanted to be there to see the fans reaction as the boys took to the stage. 

As the boys started to rise from the stage, she had never heard screams so loud in her entire life. The screams were deafening. Kevin took a few extra moments to look around at the crowd and read some of the signs. Abigail watched as relief washed over Kevin’s face and he smiled down at her. She gave him a ‘thumbs up’ as they started into the choreography for the first song. 

By the time the concert was over, all doubts and fears had been erased.

As the group drove back to the hotel, Kevin felt like he was on top of the world. The fans still loved them and the woman he loved was right beside him. He had it all. What more could he ask for, Kevin wondered. 

Howie, Nick and AJ decided to throw an impromptu get together to celebrate their return. At any other time, Kevin would have jumped at the opportunity to attend a party, but all he wanted that night was to be alone with Abigail. She had been his rock as he took the time to heal physically and emotionally and he wanted to let Abigail know how much all her support meant to him and how much he loved her. 

“Are you tired from the show? Is that why you wanted to skip the party?” Abigail asked as they walked into the large hotel room and turned on the lights, concerned that the performing turned out to be too much for him. 

“I’m not tired at all. In fact I feel better than I have in a long time.” Kevin said as he opened up the curtains and opened the patio door. It was a beautiful night outside and he wanted to let some fresh air into the otherwise stuffy air-conditioned hotel room. 

“Then I don’t understand why you didn’t want to go to the party. You’re never one to turn down a party.” Abigail said. She thought for sure Kevin would have wanted to celebrate after such a successful show. 

“Because I have something else in mind.” Kevin said as he stepped towards Abigail and drew her into his arms. 

“And what would that something else be?” Abigail asked. 

“I wanted to celebrate with woman I love.” Kevin said. 

“What did you have in mind?” Abigail asked, fully understanding what Kevin had in mind. 

“I want to say a few things to you Abigail. First of all, I want to thank-you for being so patient and tolerant over the past three months. I know this hasn’t been easy on you either and you’ve had your own daemons to confront as well, but no matter what, you were always there for me. You seemed to know exactly what I needed, long before I did. I don’t think I have properly thanked you.” Kevin said seriously as he gazed into Abigail’s beautiful blue eyes, bearing his heart and soul. 

“You don’t need to thank me Kevin. I love you and wanted to be there for you.” Abigail said. 

“I know, but when I look back and think about some of the things I said and did, I don’t know why you didn’t just pack your bags and leave. I treated you pretty badly and I realize that now. I can’t help but feel guilty.” Kevin said. 

“All that matters to me now is that you’re fine. You’re talking to someone who knows exactly how difficult it is to deal with something so traumatic. God knows I didn’t handle things the best way either and I caused you a lot of heartache and grief. Let’s just call it even and move on with our lives.” Abigail said. 

“Have I told you lately how much I love you?” Kevin said as he drew Abigail into his arms and rested her head on his shoulder. 

“You can never say it too many times.” Abigail said against Kevin’s shoulder. 

“I want to show you how much I love you Abigail. Will you let me make love to you?” Kevin whispered in Abigail’s ear. 

“I’m all yours.” Abigail said as she removed her arms from behind Kevin’s neck and slowly started to undue the buttons on Kevin’s shirt. “It feels like it’s been for ever since you’ve let me touch you.” Abigail said as she pushed Kevin’s shirt off his shoulders and let it fall to the floor. 

“I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to come around Abi. I hope you know it had nothing to do with you.” Kevin said as he put his head back and closed his eyes. It had been far too long since they had been intimate. 

“No more apologizing Kevin.” Abigail said as she captured one of Kevin’s nipples in her mouth and slowly caressed it with her tongue. 

“God that feels good. It’s been far to long.” Kevin said as he quickly disrobed Abigail from the waist up. It was at that moment that Kevin decided he was going to take it slow. He gently caressed Abigail’s bare back and pulled her into his arms. His lips were barely touching hers when he said, “I want this to be like our first time all over again.” He gently pressed his lips against Abigail’s and she willingly accepted his kiss. 

Abigail let herself get lost in Kevin’s slow and passionate kiss. They simply clung to each other, both desperately needing this intimate contact. 

Kevin was the first to break the kiss and slowly moved his hands so he could cup Abigail’s breasts. He could tell she was all ready extremely aroused, as her nipples were all ready erect.
