The Secrets Trilogy: Part 2 - Lying To Protect

Chapter 8

Kevin woke up earlier than usual the next morning and decided to go down for a quick workout before Abigail woke up. They’d stayed up unusually late just talking and holding each other, and he hated to wake Abigail. He didn’t really want to be up at this hour himself, but they had a busy day ahead of them and a good workout always gave him the necessary energy to make it through a busy day.

Kevin was just getting warmed up when he heard a familiar female voice say, “You’re about 10 hours late Kevin.”

Kevin looked up and felt uneasy when he saw Jordyn standing in the doorway. His encounter with her the night before and the note he found in his dressing room came back to him. “I don’t just meet fans like that.” Kevin said as he continued to work out.

Jordyn crossed the large gym and straddled the bench that Kevin was sitting on. “I’m not just any fan Kevin. You will not stand me up like you did last night, do you understand me?” Jordyn said in a low voice, with the intention of intimidating Kevin.

Kevin stood up to put some distance between him and Jordyn and said, “Look, I don’t know who you think you are, but you can’t intimidate me.”

Jordyn stood up and slowly circled Kevin as he stood in the middle of the gym. She expected him to put up a fight. It was time to pull out the big guns. Jordyn was just an inch shorter than Kevin, so she was easily able to lean forward and whisper in Kevin’s ear. “Does the name Frank Summers ring a bell Kevin?” Jordyn said.

Kevin stepped back and looked at Jordyn with disbelief. “Who in the hell are you?” Kevin said.

“I thought that might catch your attention. Frank is a very good friend of mine Kevin. I’m here to do him a little favor.” Jordyn said.

“Why can’t that asshole just leave Abigail alone? What did she ever do to him?” Kevin asked.

“What did she do to him? She’s the reason he’s locked up behind bars now. Did you really think he’d let her forget how she ruined his life?” Jordyn said.

“He’s insane! He’s the one that fucked with her life.” Kevin said.

“I don’t really care what the history is between Abigail and Frank. All I know is I’m supposed to make her life miserable.” Jordyn said.

“And how do you plan on doing that?” Kevin asked, almost afraid to hear the answer. He all ready knew that Frank was going to use him to hurt Abigail.

“Oh, I think you’re a smart person Kevin. You tell me what the plan is.” Jordyn provoked.

“I won’t do it. Abigail’s been through enough. I refuse to be involved in anything that will hurt her.” Kevin said.

“You have a choice Kevin. You either cooperate with me or Frank will find some other way to hurt Abigail. And I can’t guarantee that she won’t be hurt physically. I wouldn’t put it past Frank. You have until tonight to make your decision Kevin. Meet me in room 204 at midnight. And I don’t think I really need to stress this point, but I will anyways. You don’t mention this to anyone, especially Abigail.” Jordyn said. That’s when she leaned forward and gently kissed Kevin on the lips. “See you tonight gorgeous.” Jordyn said as she turned on her heel and left the room.

Kevin wasn’t sure what to do once Jordyn left the room. He’d been able to control his fear and emotions while Jordyn was in the room, but now his legs felt weak and he was trembling. He sat down on a bench and took a few minutes to calm down and collect his thoughts. He wondered how serious this really was. The second he thought that though, he knew he had to take this threat personally. He was painfully aware of what Frank was capable of and he would do everything in his power to prevent Frank from getting near Abigail again, even if that meant doing whatever Jordyn told him to do. It broke Kevin’s heart though, because he knew no matter what Abigail would get hurt in the end. He just prayed he was making the right decision.

************************

That afternoon, Abigail accompanied Kevin to the press conference that was scheduled for 1pm. Management had requested that all friends, family, girlfriends and wives be present, although she didn’t understand why. It was just a typical press conference and fan conference, but she was happy to tag along as opposed to hanging out at the hotel, which is what she normally did while the group was at press conferences.

Abigail had been awake and just getting out of the shower when Kevin returned from the gym. She couldn’t put her finger on it, but she sensed that something was bothering Kevin. She asked him about it just before he went into the shower, but he assured her that everything was fine. He was just tired and thinking of the long day they had ahead of them.

Now as Abigail sat watching the press conference, she noticed how quiet Kevin was. Normally he was the first to speak up on several different topics, but this afternoon Brian and Howie had to take control. This did not go unnoticed by the rest of the people that were close to the group.

Later that afternoon, Kevin was cornered and questioned about his lack of involvement in the press conference earlier that afternoon. He just shrugged his shoulders and stated that he was tired. He really had to work hard and concentrate for the remainder of the day. He knew he couldn’t pull the wool over their eyes, because he was the one that was always able to remain focused. He couldn’t let this affect his work and most importantly, he couldn’t let on to Abigail that anything was wrong.

************************

Kevin thought he did a really good job remaining focused for the remainder of the day. He was relieved to see that Jordyn was not at the concert; at least he couldn’t see her. This enabled him to relax somewhat and enjoy the show. He knew that he had been avoiding Abigail all day, so made sure he paid special attention to her during the show that night.

Kevin became nervous when Abigail showed interest in joining everyone else for a late dinner. There was no way he could pull this off without Abigail and the other guys suspecting something. He wondered what kind of risk he would be taking if he just contacted the police. Whatever he decided to do, he knew he had to meet Jordyn that night. He wasn’t willing to put Abigail’s life at risk.

“You don’t sound too enthusiastic about going out tonight? Would you just prefer to stay in?” Abigail asked.

“Yeah, I think I’ll stay in. But why don’t you go. Just because I’m too tired too go, doesn’t mean you can’t go.” Kevin said. If he could convince Abigail to join the group for dinner, that would give him at least an hour to meet with Jordyn and get back up to their room. That was the only way he was going to work it out.

“Are you sure? Cause just say the word and I’d be happy to stay with you.” Abigail said. She found it odd that Kevin wasn’t interested in going out and he was encouraging her to go without him. He had never done that before. Maybe he really was just tired, Abigail thought to herself.

“No, I’ll be fine. Go out and have some fun.” Kevin encouraged.

“Ok then. I love you. See you a little later.” Abigail said as she quickly kissed Kevin and then joined everyone else.

Kevin was relieved when he got onto the elevator. He had half an hour before he had to meet with Jordyn. He had to figure out some way to convince Jordyn that this was a bad idea. What was Jordyn getting out of this anyways? Kevin had a lot of questions for Jordyn and he expected answers. If Frank was going to back him into a corner, he needed some answers.

*************************

Jordyn turned down the lights and finished lighting the last of the candles that had been randomly place throughout the hotel room. She was anxiously awaiting her first night alone with Kevin. She was satisfied that she had scared him earlier in the day and she was certain he would be there tonight.

Jordyn thought about how her life had changed in just a few short weeks. Three weeks ago, she had been in prison praying she’d be granted parole. As soon as Frank found out that she would be released in one week’s time, he cornered Jordyn and made a proposition. Jordyn had spent 15 years in prison for attempted murder and Frank knew she had no where to go when she got out, and he played on her vulnerabilities. He had offered her $50,000 up front and promised her that when he was satisfied with her results, she would receive another $150,000. All she had to do was make Abigail miserable and breaking her and Kevin up sounded like a grand idea. After she got a good look at Kevin the night before, she was all of a sudden looking forward to implementing this plan. Kevin was a very good-looking and extremely wealthy man and she’d have fun screwing around with him. She could feel her arousal build as she thought about what she had in store for Kevin that night. By the time she was finished with him, he would be asking himself “Abigail who?”

Jordyn was so deep in thought, that the knock at the door startled her. She surveyed the room one final time and then quickly ran to answer the door. “I knew you wouldn’t let me down Kevin.” Jordyn said as she opened the door to let Kevin in.

“Let’s cut to the chase Jordyn. I’m not happy to be here and I want some answers. What do you expect out of me?” Kevin said as she stormed into the room and slammed the door.

“Calm down Kevin. That’s no way to treat a woman.” Jordyn said as she walked up behind him and slowly massaged his shoulders.

Kevin turned around and said, “I want answers Jordyn. I’m not some push over. I won’t sit back and take this bullshit.” Kevin said. He was quickly loosing his patience.

“You’ll find out information as you need to know it. Right now, all you need to know is that I’m running the show.” Jordyn said as she brought her arms up and rested them on Kevin’s hard chest.

“Then lets get this over with. What do you want out of me tonight?” Kevin asked. He had less than an hour before he expected Abigail back and he was determined to be in their bed when she returned.

“Frank has promised me some perks. And having sex with an incredibly good looking man like you sounds like a pretty good perk.” Jordyn said as she moved in closer and pressed her body against Kevin’s.

Kevin felt ill when Jordyn’s hands started to move all over his body. He felt sick because he was going to be forced into having sex with Jordyn and he felt sick because his body was responding to her touch. Kevin knew that if he were in a different place at a different time, he would be attracted to Jordyn. He hated the fact that his body was betraying him like this; betraying Abigail.

“That’s it Kevin. Just give into the feeling. I know I can make you happy.” Jordyn said as she cupped Kevin’s erection through his jeans.

“Get this the hell over with.” Kevin hissed. He knew that this could all be over within minutes.

“Anxious to be somewhere else?” Jordyn asked as she dropped to her knees. It had been more than fifteen years since she’d had sex with someone she was attracted to and she was going to enjoy this. She undid Kevin’s jeans and within seconds Kevin’s erection was bobbing in front of her face.

Kevin closed his eyes and grasped Jordyn’s head, forcing her to take him into her mouth. He wanted to get this over with as quickly as possible. At that moment, Kevin hated being a man. A man’s body always betrayed his mind. He felt guilty as images of Abigail appeared in his head. He needed to get out of there. Kevin picked up the pace and within less than a minute, his body let loose with the final betrayal. He pushed Jordyn to the floor and quickly pulled his pants back up.

Jordyn recovered quickly and grabbed Kevin’s arm before he could escape. “Where in the hell do you think you’re going?” Jordyn asked.

“Getting as far away from you as possible.” Kevin hissed.

“We’re not finished here yet Kevin.” Jordyn informed.

“Show me a condom and I’ll fuck you harder than you could ever imagine.” Kevin said.

“I don’t have any. We’ll just have to do without.” Jordyn responded.

“Over my dead body. God knows where you’ve been and how many men you’ve slept with. I will not risk my life or Abigail’s life by having unprotected sex with you of all people.” Kevin said as he pulled his arm from Jordyn’s grasp and headed for the door. Kevin breathed a sigh of relief as the elevator doors closed moments later. It was 12:30 by the time he made it back to his room, relieved to see that Abigail hadn’t returned yet. He jumped in the shower and scrubbed himself clean. Somehow he doubted that he would ever feel clean again after having her mouth and hands all over him.
