Kevin reluctantly picked up the diary and
placed it on his lap. He didn’t know what to expect as he turned
the pages. He always assumed he knew Sierra better than she knew
herself, but he feared he was going to learn more than he cared to
know about the woman he had known for fifteen years. He wasn’t
sure he even wanted to read what Sierra had written on the pages.
He all ready knew that he had made a horrific mistake and wished
he could take it all back. He loved Sierra and his kids more than
life its self and he never meant to hurt Sierra in this way. But
Kevin truly had no idea where Sierra had disappeared too and knew
the answer was written somewhere within the book that now rested
on his lap. Kevin was about to take a journey through the past,
which would bring anger, tears, and guilt, which would ultimately
lead Kevin to make a decision about the future of their marriage.
Kevin finally lifted the front cover of
Sierra’s diary slowly and got comfortable in their bed. This was
going to be a long afternoon.

Dear
Diary
I
met the most wonderful guy this afternoon. My parents have been
visiting for the past couple of days and we decided to go to Walt
Disney World for the day. He was our tour guide for the afternoon. I
thought my parents were insane when they announced they wanted to
pay for a tour guide, but as soon as I saw our tall, dark-haired,
green-eyed tour guide, I was silently thanking them.
From
the moment we first made eye contact, neither of us could ignore the
instant connection. I can still hear his deep voice as he introduced
himself. “My name’s Kevin and I’ll be your tour guide for the
afternoon. On behalf of Walt Disney World, I’d like to welcome you
and I hope to make your day here at Walt Disney World an enjoyable
one.”
As
the afternoon progressed, I became more and more smitten with Kevin.
He was a thorough tour guide, which pleased my parents to no end,
but I hated to see the afternoon end. When my parents stopped to use
the washroom, Kevin and I finally had a few minutes alone. I was
relieved when he was the first to speak, when he asked me where I
was from and he was pleasantly surprised to learn that I lived in
Orlando and my parents were only visiting from Chicago. He was so
cute when he explained that all the girls he met were never from
Florida. As my parents joined us again, that was when he silently
confessed that he was scheduled to play Aladdin the following
afternoon and I was more than welcome to visit him. I’ve always
been extremely shy, so I didn’t commit to visiting him, but I know
I won’t be able to resist. I’m sure he says that to all the
girls he meets, so I just hope he remembers me.

Kevin put Sierra’s diary down
on the bed as he thought back to the first afternoon he and Sierra
met. He recalled seeing beautiful girls on a daily basis when he
worked at Walt Disney World, but something stood out about Sierra.
She had beautiful long blond wavy hair and the most gorgeous blue
eyes he had ever seen and a tall and lean body with curves in all
the right places. He was immediately attracted to her and he
remembered being extremely hopeful that she would come and visit him
the following afternoon. He also remembered thinking it was almost
as if someone turned a light on when he first set his eyes on
Sierra. Even though it had been fifteen years since they had met,
Kevin remembered the day well.
