Christmas Love - Part 2

Shania was the first to wake up the next morning. She didn't realize how hard she had squeezed Kevin's hand until she realized she had woken him up. He tightened his grip around Shania's waist and kissed the top of her head. "Morning beautiful. I think I could get used to waking up with you." Kevin said.

Shania propped herself up on her elbows and said, "Could you do me a favor. I think I am overdue to take the painkillers and my ankle is doing a good job of reminding me of that."

Kevin responded right away and got out of bed. He quickly put his boxers and pants back on and opened his bedroom door. As he passed his mothers room, he heard her calling him. He quickly popped his head into her room and said, "Can this wait for just a few minutes. I want to make sure Shania takes her pain medication." She nodded and Kevin proceeded to get her medication from the basement. He stopped in the kitchen and grabbed her a glass of juice, and brought it up to her. He gave her the juice and medication, kissed her full on the lips and made his way back to his mothers room. He was really nervous about what she would say.

Kevin knocked on her door and entered her room. She asked him to close the door behind him. He was pretty sure now that he was going to hear about some rules while he was in the house, but instead a huge smile spread across her face and she embraced Kevin. "How is Shania this morning?" his mother asked as she sat back down on the bed.

"She is ok, but her ankle is bothering her." Kevin said as he took a seat beside his mother on the bed. "Mom, I want to apologize for last night. It won't happen again." Kevin said as he looked down at his hands.

"Son, you have nothing to be sorry for. I am thrilled that you and Shania have found each other in this way. I have always loved Shania as a daughter. You are both adults now. I know you don't have a whole lot of time together, so who am I to tell you to sleep in separate rooms. I am curious to know how this all came about though." Kevin's mother said as she held Kevin's hand.

Kevin gave his mother a hug before he began, "I am not quite sure how it happened, but things have been different ever since I came home. And when we were over at Brian's the other day, I guess he picked up on it. So he spoke to both Shania and I, and that got us thinking. Do you think it is wrong to want more with Shania?" Kevin asked, knowing that his mother would be honest with him.

"Oh Kevin. Why would there be anything wrong with it? It's almost like the next natural step for your relationship. You had been best friends for several years and I am thrilled to see the two of you become closer. Now why don't you go and see if she needs some help getting out of bed." She said.

Kevin gave his mom a hug before he left and said thank-you. When Kevin walked back into his room, Shania was sitting on the edge of the bed with her undergarments and her top on. Kevin looked at her confused and Shania said, "I need some help getting my pants on."

Kevin sat down beside her on the bed and started laughing. "I am not sure I want to put them back on." Kevin said as he reached for her pants on the floor and carefully pulled them on over her swollen ankle and then helped her stand up while she did the rest herself. "Also if you could get my crutches for me, I will try and make it to the washroom." Shania said as she held on to Kevin's arm for support. Kevin started to leave the room, and she said, "But don't take that long. I really have to use the washroom."

"Well why don't I carry you there and then I will give you your crutches when you are finished." Kevin said as he took her in his arms once again. He made sure she made it into the washroom ok before he headed downstairs. When he came back up, he knocked on the washroom door and Shania told him he could come in. She was standing in front of the mirror applying a minimal amount of make-up and brushing her hair. He stood behind her and put his arms around her waist. "Are you ready to head downstairs? On my way back up, my mom mentioned that breakfast is ready for us whenever we are ready."

"Ya I am famished." Shania said as she grabbed the crutches that were resting up against the counter. Kevin decided to go down first, but he descended the stairs slowly as to make sure that Shania made it down ok. They both entered the kitchen and Kevin pulled the chair out and helped Shania sit down. His mother brought 2 plates over to the table, that were loaded with, bacon and eggs, hash browns and toast. "How is your ankle this morning?" she asked as she sat down beside Shania.

"It's pretty sore right now. I am just waiting for the painkillers to kick in again." Shania said as she grabbed her fork and dug into her breakfast.

About an hour later Shania was back upstairs and contemplating taking a shower. She reached forward to remove the bandage that was supporting her ankle, when Kevin asked her what she was doing. "I would like to take a shower." Shania said as she rolled the bandage up and placed it on the bed. She stood up and started to leave the room, when Kevin closed the door and blocked her way.

He put his hands around her waist and said suggestively, "Are you sure you don't need any help in the shower." She could feel his erection growing against her abdomen and could feel the warmth between her legs. Last night felt so good, but she didn't feel comfortable carrying on like that while his mother was in the house.

So she lightly kissed Kevin on the cheek and said, "Not right now Kevin. As much as I would like you to join me, I don't feel comfortable doing something like that while your mother is in the house."

"Well why don't you wait another hour, because my mother is going to go wrap presents over at the local shelter this afternoon." Kevin said before he covered Shania's lips with his own and kissed her passionately. She couldn't help but get into the kiss, so she put her hands around Kevin's neck and deepened the kiss.

A knock at his door interrupted them. Shania sat down on the bed and Kevin opened the door to see his mother standing there. She must have sensed the sexual tension in the air, because she just smiled at Kevin. She asked to speak to Kevin out in the hall for a second. So Kevin shrugged at Shania and closed the door when he joined his mother in the hall. "Kevin I am going to be gone for the whole afternoon. I am going to stop off at the mall and pick up some last minute gifts. Then I will be at the shelter for the rest of the day. It may be 7 or 8 before I make it home, because we are cooking a dinner for the people who use the shelter. I did want to remind you that Christmas is tomorrow. Have you thought about what you want to get Shania?" His mother said.

"Yes I do have an idea of what I want to get her, and I will take the time to go and get it his afternoon. I think I will go out for a bit while Brian is here this afternoon. I don't want to leave Shania alone, because she is still not used to the crutches yet." Kevin said. He hugged his mother and joined Shania in his room again. She was now laying on Kevin's bed with his black down comforter covering her. He walked towards the bed and when he joined her, he was surprised to find that she was had removed all her clothing. She grabbed the bottom of Kevin's shirt and brought it up over his head. She then reached down and undid Kevin's pants. Kevin helped her remove both his pants and his boxers and took his erect shaft in her hand. She couldn't get over the size. This man was perfect in every way she thought to herself. She decided that she was going to pleasure Kevin this time. She slowly kissed her way down his chest and looked up at him as she took his manhood in her mouth. He moaned and lost his fingers in her hair. After a few minutes she felt his whole body tense and he climaxed. He took one of her breasts in his mouth and slowly brought his hand up the inside of her thigh. He found her sensitive spot and she moaned as he started applying pressure. She came in a short time and attempted to climb on top of Kevin, but her ankle was not going to allow her to do it. Before Kevin climbed on top of Shania, he reached over into his nightstand and put a condom on. Shania liked the fact that Kevin did not have to be reminded to use them. He always did have a good head on his shoulders. Within a few seconds, Kevin was situated over Shania and looking down at her. Just as he was positioning his manhood for entry, the telephone interrupted them. He did not want to, but he reached over and grabbed the phone. Shania heard Kevin say yes a few times and then hung up. "Brian will be over at 2 this afternoon Kevin said before he thrust into Shania. She opened her legs wider to provide him easier access. This time, they both climaxed together after several minutes. They both laid there for several minutes in each others arms, when Kevin said, "Are you ready to take that shower now?"

A few hours later Kevin and Shania were watching television in the living room waiting for Brian to come over. When Brian arrived he came in carrying 3 bags of gifts for under the tree. "Now Kevin, remember, tomorrow is Christmas day. Shania, you are going to have to keep Kevin away from the presents until that time." Brian said as he started placing them under the tree.

They all laughed as Shania said, "I think I might have a way to keep him away." She then leaned over and kissed Kevin full on the lips.

Brian dropped what he was doing and sat himself down between Shania and Kevin and said, "I got the two of you together, and I can keep you apart if need be." They all laughed and Brian went back to placing the gifts under the tree.

When Brian was done playing Santa, he said, "Kev man, can I talk to you in the kitchen for a second?" Kevin kissed Shania quickly before he got up and followed Brian to the kitchen. "I am guessing that you haven't gotten Shania anything for Christmas yet. Why don't I stay with her while you go get her something."

"You read my mind B-rok. I know what I want to get her, so I will quickly pick it up while you stay here with her." Kevin said as he went to go exit the kitchen.

"One more thing Kevin. Things really are working out between you two aren't they?" Brian said with a small smile on his face.

"You wouldn't believe how good things are between us." Kevin said as he exited the Kitchen and headed for the living room.

Brian yelled after him, "I think I have some idea."

A few hours later, Kevin was making dinner for himself and Shania in the kitchen while she grabbed a quick nap upstairs. He was making the only thing he knew how to, Caesar Salad, Garlic Bread and Spaghetti. But he remembered from his high school years, that it was Shania's favorite meal and she loved it when he made it. Dinner was only a few minutes away from being ready, when Shania came into the kitchen. She must have been improving with the crutches, because he did not hear her coming down the stairs at all. "It smells delicious down here Kevin. I see you remembered what my favorite meal is." Shania said as she made her way over to the stove and gave Kevin a kiss.

"Yes I did remember that it was your favorite, but I must admit, I am making it because it is the only thing I know how to make." Kevin said as he placed the salad in the middle of the table. He helped Shania sit down at the table and then removed the garlic bread from the oven. He placed the garlic bread on a plate and carried it over to the table as well. He then went back over to drain the pasta and mix the sauce in with it. He placed it down on the table and put some onto a plate for Shania and then for himself. "Dig in Shania. I hope it is as good as it looks and smells." Kevin said as he took a bite out of a piece of garlic bread.

After dinner, they resigned to the basement for the rest of the evening. The TV was on in the background, but they really just sat there talking. They played some catch up. Kevin told her all about the ups and downs of being in an internationally known group. And she told him about the job she had back in New York that she loved. Kevin was so pleased that she had a career that she loved too. He thought to himself, that this fact would hopefully make it easier for their blossoming relationship. He didn't like the thought of Shania sitting by the telephone to call everyday, because in reality, it just wouldn't be that way. After talking for a few hours, Shania lay down with her head resting in Kevin's lap. He slowly got up and carried her upstairs. He considered putting her in the spare room beside his where she had been sleeping, but he liked the idea of waking up with her in his arms on Christmas day. That alone would make the day special.
He placed her in the middle of his bead and as soon as he was undressed, he joined her. She rolled over into his arms and sighed as Kevin put his arms around her.

****Christmas Day****

Kevin slowly woke up Christmas morning and a smile formed on his lips when he felt the warmth of Shania beside him. He looked at the clock at is read 9:30 am. Everyone was probably at the house already and just waiting for the two of them to wake up. He chuckled to himself as he thought about how excited Madison must be. He rolled over and put an arm around Shania and kissed her on the cheek. She opened her eyes slowly and rolled into Kevin's arms. "Morning Beautiful. How did you sleep?" Kevin asked.

"I slept like a baby, thanks to you." Shania said as she looked over at the clock. She sat straight up in bed when she saw the time. She went to get out of bed and get dressed, and was instantly reminded that her ankle would not support her. So she sat back down on the edge of the bed and gave Kevin a look that was begging him to help her. She had managed to get dressed herself, once Kevin had passed her some clothes.

A few moments later, they descended the stairs and made their way into the living room. Everyone was sitting there watching, "Simba's Pride". "Good morning little brother. Nice to see you guys finally decided to join us." Kevin's brother Jerald Jr. said as Shania and Kevin took their places on the love seat.

"We let Madison open up one of the gifts so that we could keep her occupied while you two slept in." Kevin's mother said as she got up and gave them each a hug.

With Ann's help, Madison helped distribute all the gifts around the room. Once everyone had a fairly large pile in front of them, they started taking turns opening their gifts. Shania saw the gift from Kevin, but decided that she wanted to open that one last. Kevin was thrilled when he opened Shania's gift. There was a note inside that read:

I thought long and hard about what to get you for Christmas this year Kevin. I feel that no material thing can express the way I feel for you. So I give you this photo album, which has pictures from the first half of our life together. The pictures made me laugh and cry, and I hope it brings you the same joy it brought to me when I was putting it together. Now that we are friends and lovers, I want to be able to fill the rest of this album with many more pictures and memories.

Love Always,
Shania

Kevin didn't look up until he had looked through the photos that were in the album. When he did look up, there were tears in his eyes. He took her in his arms and whispered, "I love so much Shania, and this is the best gift that you could have given me."

They continued going around the room opening gifts. Shania had received so many wonderful things. She had received, a beautiful sweater from Kevin's mother, a gorgeous scarf from Jerald Jr., a book she had wanted to read from Tim, the movie "Titanic" from Madison. Now she sat there with Kevin's gift in her hands. She had no clue what he had decided to get her. She really hoped it wasn't anything to extravagant, because he should know that she was not into material things. She slowly undid the bow that was wrapped around it, and carefully ripped the wrapping paper off. She could tell right away that is was jewelry of some sort, and she held her breath when she opened the box. What she saw when she opened the box took her breath away. It was a beautiful gold heart-shaped locket with a diamond in the middle. When she opened the locket, there was a picture of the two of them together in high school. And the inscription read: Friends and Lovers Forever. Love Kevin. It was her turn to look over at Kevin with tears in her eyes. Kevin took it from Shania, and as she held up her hair, he put it on her. Then she turned around and threw her arms around Kevin and said, "It is beautiful Kevin. I will cherish it always."

Later that morning after everyone had opened their gifts, Shania was sitting in the living room reading the book that Tim bought her, but she was having a difficult time keeping her mind on it. Her parents were on her mind, this Christmas day. Oh how she missed them. She did not hear Kevin enter the living room, but he sat down beside her and wiped the single tear off her cheek. "I can only imagine how difficult today is for you Shania. I wish I could bring them back." Kevin said as tears started to sting his eyes.

"Kevin I need you to do something with me today. I need to go visit them today Kevin. I just can't let this day pass, without doing that." Shania said as she tried to hold the tears back. She knew she would shed enough tears when she visited their final resting place that day.

Kevin took her in his arms and said, "Of course I will go with you. I would never let you do that alone, and I would still like to pay respect to them as well. As long as you don't mind making a stop afterwards at my dad's resting place." Kevin said quietly.

"I guess today is equally difficult for both of us." Shania said, as another lonely tear made it's way down her cheek. She still missed Kevin's father so very much as well.

"No Shania, I can relate to the pain that you are feeling right now, but I still have my mother here with me. I will never know the pain of loosing both of my parents at the same time." Kevin said. The way Shania's parents were taken from her, was more unfair than how his father was taken from him. He was at least able to say good-bye to his father. Her parent's were just ripped away from her, and he would never know the pain that caused her.

Both Kevin and Shania slowly got ready, but they were both dreading the task that lay ahead of them that afternoon. They both quietly put their coats and boots on and got into the car. When the got to the parking lot, Shania just sat there for several minutes. She was not sure if she could do this. But she knew it had to be done. She could not let Christmas day pass without visiting them. Kevin came around to the passenger side of the car and helped her out. It was extremely difficult to make it through the snow with her crutches, but that was the easy part.

Kevin was the one to find the two sites in the snow. He just stood there for a second, not able to say anything. When Shania noticed that he had stopped, she knew that he had found them. She stood there for a few seconds trying to gather up the courage to go over there. She finally started the difficult journey. She couldn't look at first. She just grabbed onto Kevin's arm and buried her face in his back. She felt like she was making tiny little steps. It was almost like she couldn't handle it all at once. She finally looked at the large memorial stone that read: John and Joan Bruce, Beloved mother and father to Shania Bruce. They will be missed.

Kevin held out the flowers he was holding for her, but Shania couldn't take it anymore. She dropped to the snow covered ground and just let the tears flow freely. Watching Shania in so much pain pulled at his heart. But sat down on the ground with Shania, took her in his arms and cried along with her.

They had sat there for at least a half an hour when Kevin said, "Are you ready to go?"

Shania looked up at Kevin with her tear stained face, and said, "I want them back Kevin. I can't live without them." She then collapsed in his arms once again.

After another short while, Kevin got up and helped Shania onto her feet. But she just fell to the ground again. She was drained physically and emotionally and didn't have an ounce of energy left. So he managed to carry her and the crutches back to the car. He had decided that he would take Shania home, and change into some dry clothes. He would come back out here later to visit his father, and maybe he could convince his mother to come out here with him.

By the time they made it back to Kevin's place, Shania was able to get herself in the house, but said that she was going to retire to her room for a while. She wanted to be alone for a little while, and be able to remember her parents in peace.

Kevin checked in on her before he went back to the cemetery with his mother. He was relieved to see that she was sleeping. Although he could tell from her tear stained face, that she had spent a great deal more time crying. As he was in the car with his mother, he prayed that Shania was strong enough to make it through the loss. He knew how difficult it was to loose his father, and couldn't imagine what it was like to loose both parents.

For the remainder of the two days that Kevin had off, he spent as much of it as possible with Shania. They both dreaded the day that he had to back to Orlando, and she had to go back to New York. The doctor wanted her to stay off work for another week, but being the dedicated person that she was, Shania refused to stay away. She said she would have enough work to catch up on after the time that she had already taken off.

The day they had to go back to their lives was timed very well. Shania's flight was at 1pm and Kevin's flight was at 2:30pm. So Kevin's mother drove them both to the airport. She said good-bye to them as they got out of the car, because he sensed that they needed a little more time alone before they went back to their regular lives.

They had both checked their luggage and were now preparing to head to the gate where Shania would board the plane. It was ironic that both Kevin's and Shania's planes were to board at the same gate. They had 45 minutes together before Shania would have to board the plane. Kevin had prepared a letter for Shania, which would let her know every possible way to get in touch with him. She had not taken the time to prepare a letter, but she did give him a business card with her home phone number and email written on the back. She was thrilled to hear that Kevin had started using email, and she really stressed that they email each other frequently.

Of course they were only going to be apart for a few days, since Kevin had already made the plans for Shania to fly to Orlando for the New Years Eve concert in Orlando. And of course they would ring in the New Year together and spend the rest of the weekend together. But beyond that time, they were uncertain as to when they were going to see each other again. Kevin was going to try and make the effort to make some trips up to New York on the weekends, while they were still in Orlando for the first 3 months of the year. After that, he knew it would be extremely difficult for them to see each other, but that didn't bother Kevin too much. He was just happy, that he had found someone that loved him for him. He knew eventually, that they would be able to settle down together, get married and start a family. But that just wasn't possible right now. Kevin still planned on staying with the group for several more years, and had a feeling that Shania would still be there when he felt like settling down.

The 45 minutes passed quickly, and they were both saddened when the boarding call was announced. They both stood up and Shania said, "This may have been the most difficult Christmas for me Kevin, but it will be my most memorable Christmas. I never expected to fall in love when I decided to join your family for Christmas Kevin, but that is the best present I could have ever received."

Kevin took Shania in his arms, and kissed her passionately. He didn't want to let her go, but he respected the fact that she had a job that she couldn't get away from any longer. He had to respect her in that way, if he expected to be respected for the same reason. She gave him one final kiss on the cheek, and said "See you in a few days," as she turned around and slowly made her way to the line-up that had formed. She turned one final time before she walked through the gate door and blew Kevin a kiss. A smile spread across his lips, as he headed to the window.

When Shania was comfortable on the plane, she looked out the window and could see Kevin standing at the window. She took the locket in her hands, and thanked god for bringing something good into her life that year.

He watched the plane until he lost site of it. He sat back down and thought that, the best kind of love you could have, was a Christmas Love.
