Love With A Price - Chapter 35
“Should I pack enough dog food for Sheba for the whole
month, or do you think I’ll be able to buy it there?” Christy asked as she
walked into the bedroom.
“It might be safe to bring enough along. I heard it’s
not good to change a dog’s diet. And I can’t promise you we’ll be able to
find her food there.” Kevin replied.
“We’re going to have to go out and do some shopping
today then. I only have enough for about a week right now.” Christy said.
“Make a list of things that you need and we’ll go
shopping a little later this afternoon.” Kevin said as he walked into the
washroom.
Christy could tell that something was bothering Kevin. So
Christy followed Kevin into the washroom and sat down on the counter as he
packed things. “Are you ok Kevin?” Christy asked.
“I’m fine.” Kevin said.
“Kevin, please don’t do this. I know something is
bothering you.” Christy said.
Kevin stopped what he was doing and walked over to Christy.
She was right, something was wrong. Kevin was hoping that he was doing a good
job of hiding it, but it was obvious that he wasn’t. “I guess I’m just
looking forward to getting you away from here. I love you Christy, and I hate
the thought that you are scared to death here.” Kevin said.
“Kevin, it’s not your fault that all of this happened.
I’m looking forward to getting there and focusing on our relationship. I love
you too, and I want to be able to ensure that you are happy too Kevin.”
Christy said.
“Oh, don’t get me wrong. I am very happy Christy. In
fact I haven’t been this happy in quite some time. I just want to make sure
that you’re happy.” Kevin said.
“I am happy as well Kevin. I wouldn’t want to change
anything with our relationship Kevin.” Christy said.
“I just want to get you away from here so you can move
on.” Kevin said as he took Christy in his arms.
“Don’t worry about it so much Kevin. Let’s just get
this packing done.” Christy said as looked Kevin in the eye to ensure that he
understood what she was saying.
“You win Christy.” Kevin said as he went back to his
packing.
Christy stayed seated on the counter and watched Kevin as
he bent over. She must have been feeling a little better, because she found
herself becoming aroused. Christy jumped off the counter and playfully grabbed
Kevin’s butt.
“I thought you were going to do more packing?” Kevin
said as he turned around.
“I thought we could take a little break from packing.”
Christy said as she pressed her body against Kevin’s and lightly caressed his
member through his pants.
Kevin took a hold of Christy’s hands and said, “I’m
really not in the mood right now Christy.”
“Dammit Kevin. You want me to move on, but how can I when
you can’t do it?” Christy said as she walked out of the bathroom.
Kevin felt like kicking something as he watched Christy
storm out of the washroom. It was not his intention to upset Christy. Kevin
quickly went after Christy. He found her in the living room just sitting on the
couch. He sat down beside her and said, “I’m sorry Christy. I didn’t mean
to upset you at all. It’s just that we have a lot of packing to do today and I
can’t lie. I still am very concerned about you. I can’t forget the reason
why we are leaving earlier Christy.”
Christy turned to face Kevin. She had no right to be upset
with him. She knew very well herself that she was still terrified. “No, I’m
sorry Kevin. I had no right to get angry with you. I guess I am just trying to
pretend that everything is all right, when it isn’t. I guess I just wanted to
try and forget about it all for a few minutes.” Christy said.
“So you’re not upset with me then?” Kevin asked as he
lightly brushed a hand across Christy’s cheek.
“No, how can I be upset with you. Can you just hold me
for a few minutes?” Christy asked.
“Of course. Come here.” Kevin said as he leaned back on
the couch and took Christy in his arms.
“I have to be honest about something Kevin. For a second
I thought that you didn’t want me anymore because of what happened.” Christy
said.
Kevin felt his heart ache for Christy as he listened to her
talk. “Christy, I still find you as desirable and sexy as I ever have. Let’s
get all the packing done today and we’ll make love tonight. I want to be able
to give you my full attention.” Kevin said.
“You don’t have to do that just because of what just
happened.” Christy said quietly.
“Please don’t say that Christy. I want to show you how
much I love you without rushing things.” Kevin said.
“We’ll see how I feel tonight.” Christy said, just as
the doorbell rang.
“We will talk about this later.” Kevin said as he got
up to answer the door. Kevin opened the door to find Howie and Brian standing
there. “Hey guys, come on in.” Kevin said.
“How is Christy doing today?” Brian asked quietly.
“I’m not so sure. We just had a little bit of an
argument just now. She’s very sensitive right now. I have to be careful what I
say to her.” Kevin replied.
“Well hopefully she’ll start to feel better
tomorrow.” Howie said.
“So what can I do for you guys?” Kevin asked.
“AJ’s having a party tonight and while we were in the
neighborhood, we thought we would stop by and invite the two of you.” Brian
said.
“Oh thanks guys for thinking of us, but I think we’re
just going to stay home tonight. Once we finally get all the packing done, I
want to sit down with Christy.” Kevin said.
“That’s what we figured. Can we come in and say hi?”
Howie asked.
“Sure. I think she’d like that. I know she’d like to
thank you guys for suggesting we all leave a few days early.” Kevin said.
Kevin followed Brian and Howie into the living room. “Hey
there kiddo.” Howie said as he entered the living room.
“Hey! It’s so great to see the two of you.” Christy
said as she got up off the couch and hugged both Brian and Howie.
“We’re really sorry to hear about what happened the
other night.” Brian said.
“I wanted to thank you guys for suggesting we leave a few
days early. I really need to get away from here for a while.” Christy said.
“No problem Christy. It was actually AJ’s idea and we
all agreed with him. So, you can thank him when you see him tomorrow.” Brian
said.
“Are you guys staying for long?” Christy asked.
“Actually no Christy. They came by to invite us to a
party that AJ throwing tonight.” Kevin said.
“Oh thanks guys. But I’m not really in the mood for a
party.” Christy said.
“Yeah, that’s what Kevin figured. Rest up and we’ll
see you tomorrow.” Howie said.
“Ok guys. See you later.” Christy said.
“I’m just going to see the guys out okay Christy.”
Kevin said.
“I’ll be upstairs packing.” Christy said as she
walked towards the stairs.
“I’ll be up in a few minutes.” Kevin said.
Christy moved a few things on the bed and lay down. She
wasn’t even in the mood for packing that afternoon. She just wanted it all to
go away. Christy heard Kevin enter the room and without saying anything, he lay
down beside Christy on the bed.
“Come here. Do you want to talk?” Kevin asked as he put
his arm around Christy and drew her close.
Christy rolled over and buried her face in Kevin’s chest.
She just shook her head and started crying.
“That’s it, let it all out.” Kevin said quietly and gently as he ran his fingers through Christy’s hair.
