Love With A Price - Chapter 5
After tossing around movie titles for a few minutes, Kevin
and Christy both decided to see the latest Bond movie. Kevin insisted on paying
for the movie tickets and the popcorn that Christy wanted. She could tell by the
determined look on his face that she was not going to win if she decided to
argue with him.
Kevin and Christy found two seats in the back corner of the theatre. Kevin
explained that there was less of a chance of him getting recognized if they were
in the back corner. They sat there talking for a few minutes before the movie
started. There was one point throughout the movie that made Christy nervous and
she unconsciously reached over and grabbed Kevin’s hand. She looked up and
made eye contact with Kevin and he held her glance for several seconds. Christy
had to drag her attention back to the movie. For the remainder of the movie
though, Kevin continued to hold on to Christy’s hand.
Kevin was surprised when Christy had reached over and
grabbed his hand during the movie and it freaked him out even more when they
made eye contact. He definitely saw confusion in Christy's eyes. He couldn't
figure out why she would be so confused. But Christy never moved to remove her
hand from his, so Kevin wasn't about to release it. She had the softest hands in
the world.
When the movie was over, Kevin had requested that they stay in their seats until
the theatre had been vacated. "So what did you think of the movie?"
Kevin asked.
"It was really good. One of the best Bond movies I've seen yet."
Christy replied.
"I have to agree. It was the best one. Have you seen all the bond
movies?" Kevin asked.
"No I haven't. I never was a big fan of Bond until Pierce Brosnan took over
the part." Christy replied.
"My favorite Bond has to be Sean Connery."
Kevin said.
"I like Sean Connery now, but I can't say I liked him as Bond."
Christy said.
"You know it's a sin not to like all the bond movies." Kevin kidded.
"I guess I'll just have to be committed then won't I." Christy said
with a smile.
'God I love her smile.' Kevin said to himself as he watched Christy in the dim
lighting of the theatre. "Well it looks like everyone is gone. What do you
say we get going?" Kevin said.
"Yes I should be going. I have to get home and feed my dog." Christy
said as they got up and started to leave the theatre.
"What kind of dog do you have?" Kevin asked, still trying to learn as
much as he could about this fascinating woman.
"Sheba is a Golden Retriever." Christy replied.
"They are beautiful dogs aren't they?" Kevin said.
"She's a very intelligent animal that's for sure. I don't like being in the
house by myself, and she's a great companion when I'm home alone." Christy
said.
"Yeah I know what you mean about being alone in a house. It can get pretty
lonely." Kevin said.
Kevin talking about being lonely really pulled at Christy's heartstrings. She
wished there was something she could do to take away the loneliness. All she
could do at this point was be a friend and listen. "Well Kevin, thank-you
for a fun afternoon. I enjoyed the movie. We'll have to do it again sometime,
and you'll have to let me pay." Christy said.
"I would love to do it again sometime. But I can't promise I'll let you
pay. I had a lot of fun this afternoon as well. Maybe I can give you a call
sometime and we can do dinner or something." Kevin said.
"I'd love that. Give me a call anytime." Christy said as she stepped
forward and kissed Kevin on the cheek.
"Take care." Kevin said as Christy walked away.
