This page is dedicated to the best band to emerge from the 1970s British Rock scene - ARGENT. The band exploded onto the music scene with their 1972 world-wide smash hit "Hold Your Head Up." Comprised of Rod Argent (keyboards), Russ Ballard (lead guitar), Robert Henrit (drums) and Jim Rodford (bass guitar) they went on to gain critical and commercial acclaim before breaking up in 1976. Russ Ballard quit the group after the release of their album Nexus and went on to pursue a successful solo career. He was replaced by John Grimaldi and John Verity who later went on to record the group's most experimental album - Circus in 1975 and Counterpoints in 1976, which feaured Phil Collins on drums.
