25 of April... Well, today "Royal Hunt" contribute following letter... so read it, it's official...
"To whom it may concern,
Due to irreconcilable differences between DC Cooper and the other members of ROYAL HUNT,
the band is replacing him and is looking for a new lead singer to continue recording their
new studio album.
DC Cooper not wanting to be an equal member of the band, decided to become a "hired
gun" (freelance singer). He has also made it clear, that if the offer wasn t big
enough, he would not be interested in continuing to work with the band. ROYAL HUNT has no
intention to fulfill his unreasonable demands and feels that DC Cooper is only concerned
about the financial side
of the deal and is no longer looking into the best interests of the band and it s creative
development.
The band will stay put to all obligatory contracts and be as timely as possible with the
delivery of the new master. However, there may be a slight delay due to the above
mentioned fact. Our management will update you with the progress as usual."
- ROYAL HUNT
07 of March... No RH news at all, but alot of people asked me about details of DC Cooper fake retire from the band, so here is my comments...
- All this crap starts at 03 of January, when some japanese source print information : Andre Andersen asks DC Cooper to leave the band. Tho' japanese metal sources usually way more confidential than anyone else, that was a 100 % fake. Few days after DC sends a letter to one of his followers where confirm that he stays in the current RH line-up. So if ye belongs to a legions of DC fans, don't worry. Cooper stays in "Royal Hunt". Sing you celebratin' songs...
- by the way... Does anyone knows what happening with the Steen's solo album? As far as I know it's been recorded even before the last X-mas, but where the hell is release? Strange...
01 of February... DC here, DC there, DC Cooper everywhere...
- Frontmen of RH, infamous DC Cooper release his own album, entitled "DC Cooper" (no surprise here...) two weeks ago. Currently cd available only as a import from Japan, but I think it's not a big problem for all fans of his amazing voice (at least I get the cd even living kinda aside of any sign of civilization... ). Album contains 12 tracks, recorded with help of whole army of people, members of such fine band as "Pink Cream 69", "Conception", etc... So, even if you don't sign yourself as a devoted paladin of DC, album is definitely worth checking out...
- Second official "Royal Hunt" homepage finally opens recently. It's a famous RH site, which of some important people talks about for a half of year from now, and it supposed to be very good coz' of talented webmaster. Tho' first "official" (royalhunt.com) is still agonizing without any updates and with hacked down message-board (there was such fine flames of mine... damn!), new site very strange too. I find just a index with some html and pictures (very good html, by the way), but people says it was functional awhile ago, but almost all was under construction... Anyway, hope it will be back up soon, I die to see new RH information...
- And by the way... Hope you not forget to drink some for health of my guitar idol, Jacob Kjaer?! He celebrates his birthday on 22 of January...
Well, almost three months passed since last newsblock, and alot of news in and around "Royal Hunt" take place... Some news may not be too fresh ;-), but I hope I can tell you some really good ones.
5 of January, 1998... StarLight tryin' to de-poison
himself from almost fatal quantity of vodka and write this newsblock, fightin' through
damn headache...
So, 1998 year from The Birth passed away like a sand through the fingers, and we all was
given a honor to overview another year in the history of "Royal Hunt".
For Andre and company 98 was very productive, even without major band activity. Because
this year almost all RH members take a break and record their own solo's. So all news are
mainly about solo-projects...
- If someone didn't notice (he must be blind and deaf then), Andre Andersen's solo-album was released in November! Entitled as "Changing Skin", cd contains six wonderful tracks that will blow your mind out. If you still don't have this album, I really don't have anything to say you...
- If anyone cares, DC Cooper's own album will be on sale in a very short time from now. No more details available (except for recording company - it will be "Victor", Japanese division of JVC), but I hear that style will be completely different from what DC sing in RH, with much heavier music. The one thing I want to know badly - who will compose material for the album, 'coz as you know DC never write even a line for a song....
- MAIN NEWS: After DC and Andre Steen Mogensen too caught a "solo-flu" from Andre and DC, and recorded his album too!!! AND HENRIK BROCKMANN WILL DO LEAD VOCAL!!! But aside of this only two things are known - 1.) All works in studio are over, so let's countdown days together... 2.) And again style of songs will be different (*sigh*) from what Steen playing in RH. So maybe it will be a black or trash or doom metal :-)
- A former "Royal Hunt" drummer Kenneth Olsen play some parts in "Changing Skin". This is first time I ever see the sign of Kenneth's activity since his last tour in Switzerland and I'm very happy to see that he is back to RH, more or less...
- And again no official words on fifth album was said. And because even no rumors like "guys starts recording" ever appears in autumn/winter of 1998, I suppose that album will be out in late autumn of 1999, and that's the best date...
Lemme think... 30 of September! More news about RH-members solo's!!!
- MAIN NEWS - Andre Andersen solo-album called "Changing Skin".... No comments, guys, no comments...
- In recordings of DC's solo-album plays some musicians from "Pink Cream 69"... If anyone cares, Andi Deris (current singer in "Helloween") was in PC69 some years ago...
Damn, where are the release dates?? Maaaaan, I'm dying to listen all those beautiful songs...
As far as I remember, here's 27 of September and 'ere is
next newsblock about "Royal Hunt"...
- More news comes about solo-album of Andre Andersen -
firstly I must disappoint all fans of Henrik Brockmann - he
DON'T take any leading vocal parts on album... Just some backvocaling. Also I know WHO
will sing all those new beautiful songs by Andre - this lucky guy is Kenny
Lobcke, former frontmen in "Narita" (no more people from "Narita",
though)...
- Three days ago "Majestic Entertainment" announce new promotion-dates for "Royal Hunt". If you want to read them, go to Official "Royal Hunt" page... But I must say that I kinda impressed with one thing - NO PROMOTION at all for USA and Japan....
So, here's 22 of September and I'm tryin' to remember what's in and out of "Royal Hunt" happens for last month...
- First of all - our beloved Andre Andersen finish recording of his first solo-album awhile ago, and it'll be released VERY SOON. There's a rumor about that Henrik take action in recordings with some musicians from "Narita" and other bands. After release little tour with new material CAN happens, but that's not confirmed yet...
- Next - DC Cooper release his first solo-album soon (it's kinda decease those days :-). Not much known up to now, except for musical style will be different from what DC sings in RH...
- USA-based recording company "Magna Carta" re-release (almost a month ago ;-) "Moving Target" for US, with two bonus tracks - acoustic version of "Far Away" and "Restless" (beautiful song performed by DC in studio on "RH Video'95"). CD costs 13.99 $..... Enjoy, our yankee friends! :-)
