Bette Midler has played in many movies that have touched everyone in certain ways. The Bette Midler Show1976Live from Cleveland, One of Bette's "Depression Tour" shows was put on video. Originally called "The Fabulous Bette Midler Show", It was put on video as "The Bette Midler Show". Bette sings songs, tells jokes, and has a hell of a time.
The Rose1979Bette's first major film in her career. The Rose won Bette two Golden Globes, and a nomination for best actress. She plays the part of "Rose", a rock star who's life was losely based on Janis Joplin.
Divine Madness1980After "the Rose" Bette went on to release concert on film. "Divine Madness" was one of Bette's "World Tour" shows. It was filmed in Passedena, to a sold out audiance. Yet again, we see Bette sing songs from the Rose, and also sing earlier favorites.
Jinxed1982"Jinxed" was a major flop in the box office, and left Bette, in what she called a depression. The film is about a singer who fell in love with a black jack dealer, and deals him into a murder plot. Bette plays the role of Bonita Firml.
Down And Out In Beverly hills1986After "Jinxed" Bette couldn't get another script. But "Down And Out In Beverly Hills" came along and started off the Disney contract. Bette plays Barbara Whiteman in this funny comedy about a rich family who must take care of an unexpected visitor.
Ruthless People1986Bette plays Barbara Stone in this comedy about a man who wanted to kill his wife (Bette), but after finding out that she was kidnapped, he decided to leave her with the kidnappers and not pay the randsom.
Outrageous Fortune1987Sandy is the name of Bette's character in this movie. After Sandy and Lauren realize that they were going out with the same guy, they found themselves chasing him city to city to find out who he loved more. Hilarious comedy!
Big Business1988In "Big Business", Bette plays the characters of Sadie Ratliff and Sadie Shelton. After two sets of twins are mixed up at birth, they find themselves crossing paths 40 years later. This is a great comedy with a wonderful script.
Beaches1988Friendship lasts forever. Bette plays CC Bloom, a singer who reunites with Hillary, a long lost friend. They find themselves in a hard situation when hillary becomes very ill, and realizes she will die.
Oliver And Company1988In This Animated picture, Bette plays the part of Georgette. She is a rich dog, who becomes jeolous when her owner brings in a cat to live with them. The story line revolves around Oliver and the little girl who lives in the home with Georgette.
Stella1990Stella Claire is Bette's character in this picture. She is a mother of a daughter that she raises on her own. It is the story of their relationship through hard times, and good times.
Scenes From A Mall1991In this comedy, Bette plays the part of Deborah Fifer. She plays a psychologist who's relationship with her husband takes a turn for the worst, while visiting the mall.
For The Boys1991This musical drama shows the many talents of Miss M. Dixie Leonard is a singer who meets up with Eddie Sparks, a performer for the war boys. They team up, and live through hapiness and tears.
Hocus Pocus1993This is a fantasy about three witches who are conjured up accidentally by some pranksters. The result is a bunch of chaos and fun. Bette plays the part of Winifred Sanderson.
Get Shorty1995Bette had a uncredited performance in this movie. She was Doris. She plays a woman who has a relationsip with a film director named Harry Zimm.
The First Wives Club1996This is Bette's biggest hit in her career with over 100 million in ticket sales. "The First Wives Club" is about three first wives who meet at a friends funeral, and decide to get even with their ex-husbands. Bette plays Brenda Morelli Cushman.
That Old Feeling1997In Bette's latest film, she plays the part of Lilly Leonard. Lilly is an actress that reunites with her ex-husband, and realizes that there still is something between them.
