This live recording was taken from concerts held each year to honor the recipient of the Jazzpar Prize [Jim Hall was the honoree for 1998]. Chris’s case is the first time that a musician has played the Jazzpar concerts as a sideman and then gone on to become a Jazzpar winner himself.
We can expect Chris to play a series of European concerts in 2000 to celebrate his award. And, we fervently hope, there should be an album released from those dates soon afterward.
