MICHAEL W. SMITH

RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL - May 7, 1993

For my 16th birthday, My parents gave me a terrific gift. Front row seats for Michael's Change Your World Tour. My birthday is March 29, but that's when they bought the May 7th tickets, so we would get the front row seats. I'll never forget the day we bought those tickets.

My mom, dad, grandma and I all went to the ticketron outlet at our mall. After we bought the tickets, my mom put them in her purse and we went food shopping. We were half way home when mom realized she left her purse in the shopping cart! We turned around in the middle of the road and raced back to the store. Dad ran up to the cart, and the purse was gone. He saw a policeman sitting in his squad car, but he didn't know anything about it. All this time, the only thing we were worried about were those tickets. We went inside to see if anyone found the purse and turned it in, but no luck. So, as a last resort, we went to the police station in our town. Now mind you, this sisn't even happen in our town, but we didn't know where else to go or what else t otry. My dad went in and a couple of minutes later, he came running out. "They have it!", he yelled from inside the door. We jumped out of the car and ran right into the station! The officer brought out the purse and thank God, everything was still there, including the tickets!

So, needless to say, we went through a lot to get to this show, but believe me when I tell you, it was all worth it! Yes, I had to wait 2 months to get my birthday present, but the long wait, not to mention nearly loosing those tickets, made that night all the more enjoyable. I had a ball that night. And those front row seats? TERRIFIC!!

And when I bought the Change Your World Live video a couple of months later, it was like reliving that unforgettable night all over again.

My ticket for the concert.
