(bag.)
Chosen as "Best New Band 1998" by the Buffalo
News "Gusto" magazine,... ( bag.) incorporates elements of funk,
jazz, soul, and R&B into the fold, and allows them work together in a
way that makes their music easily accessible to a wide range of
music lovers.
( bag.) works a room with a deep old school
funk style that has the warm familiarity of your first kiss and your
first spanking all rolled into one.
Their live shows are high energy and filled with sweaty, dancing,
eager listeners. Groove-oriented ( bag.) will definitely keep you
moving.
bag. consists of:
Michael DiSanto, a vocalist / guitarist with
one of the most seriously funky right hands on planet earth.
Eric Crittenden, a sax player and percussionist
with a style and soulful voice that'll make you want to run home to
your mother, to try and explain all those "new feelings" that you're
having.
David "The Waz" Wasik on drums, a jazz monster
with a deep appreciation and affection for funk and soul music. Dave's
command at the throne will drop the weak of heart to their knees.
and filling in for us on bass...
Tom Zielinski, a bassist that we heard play and
*had* to have. Tom plays fretted, fretless, and upright basses. He's
a tasteful player, who has killer chops, but just may tease you all
night with
what he's hiding.
Just so you know...
John Olivier will still be filling in shows with us on drums. He's
currently playing, and recording with his other project Dangerous
Hours.
So call it what you like: Funk, Groove-jazz, ...we don't care.
Just come on out and shake your little pants with us.
( bag.) was also chosen by Buffalo Beat Magazine to represent the
city in the 1999 North By Northeast Music Conference, and will be
appearing at the 1999 Western New York B.O.M.B. festival.
( bag.) would like to thank all of you for making our shows so
much fun for everyone involved. Keep coming out and keep the funk
alive.
On a special note, we'd like to thank our origional
bassist/co-founder Seth Horan for all of his help and dedication over
the last couple of years. Losing him, is like losing a family member.
We wish him the best of luck in his new band, Junkculture. He promises
to drop in on us and jam when he's in town. He's always more than
welcome. We love you Seth.
