I picked this up for a song (sic). It is a Korean Fender Squier. It plays
and sounds terrific to my ears (of course, I'm just a hobbiest bass player).
The serial number is E910235.
It looks like it was dropped or the owners wife busted it on his head (this
possibility came from my wife). On the bottom edge the finish is chipped off
and the (ply?)wood is starting to split. With the high humidity down here I
figure the wood will start to swell and really come apart. Now, I don't know about
you, but this puts a mental image in my mind: I can see myself standing in
front of a 'screaming fan' cradling this soggy cardboard-like bass in my arms
and trying desperatly to keep it from falling apart!! Sooo, I think
I'll try my hand at making a bass body for it. All suggestions are welcome.
The day I bought this and came proudly strutting in the door at home my
wife said "What's this?"
I replied "A bass, is this great or what?"
She asked "Why did you buy a bass?"
My confident answer was "Because it was only 50 bucks!"
Now, I ask you, what better reason does someone need to buy a bass? How come
women don't think the way normal people (men) do.
