Al enige tijd zijn de jongens van THE BARSTARS on the road met APPIE ALBERTS "The Doctor". THE BARSTARS begonnen het werk van Appie Alberts te coveren en speelden voor de lol een keer samen tijdens een concert in Het Pleintje in Winschoten. Deze samenwerking bevalt zo goed dat ze hebben besloten om dit zeker tot na het jaar 2000 vol te houden! THE BARSTARS voorheen The Big Bastards rocken al zo'n 5 jaar samen, hun grootste prestatie leverden ze om in het najaar van 1997 de Rockbattle te bereiken, zo verscheen 1 nummer van de band, geproduceerd door Alfred Lagarde, op een verzamel c.d. van veronica. Saxofonist/chemicus APPIE ALBERTS heeft al een langere staat van dienst en speelt al vanaf begin jaren '70 met o.a. : Herman Brood, Hans Dulfer. De afgelopen 20 jaar speelde hij met zijn AA and the Doctors alle zalen in Nl. plat. Ook nu weer met AA and THE BARSTARS is dit het geval,de band staat garant voor een avond onvervalste R&R van eigen bodem! Zo zullen alle songs die Appie Alberts op c.d. heeft uitgebracht gespeeld worden, o.a. WASH MAH BRAIN en THE DOCTOR IS IN! En niet te vergeten Albert's grootste hit:BLEW MY COOL OVER YOU,ooit nog eens gecoverd door Herman Brood! AA and the Barstars bestaan uit: Alex Julius: gitaar/zang, Jan Doctor: drums, Appie Alberts: zang/saxofoon, J.Paul Doctor: bas en Geert Wierth: gitaar/zang. | |||||||||||||||||||

Meet the Barstars, featuring Dr. Albert Alberts. For along time, since the early seventies the Doctor is terrorising the Dutch rock club scene. His best known band was called "AA and the Doctors" with whom he recorded the classic album "Wash mah brain" which was one of the all time favorites of all the Barstars members. The Barstars started covering songs from this album and got the idea to invited the writer for some accidential gigs, playing "Wash mah brain" songs together. And it worked. Oh yes it did !!!!!! As a matter of fact, there are serious plans to making a live-record with songs from the WMB album. And that seems to be a need for the fans, cause everywhere this gang goes it's party time, Y' know !!!!!!! The musicians are: Alex Julius:raw guitar and some throat,Jan Doctor:voodoo bush drums,Dr.Albert Alberts:Leading throut and saxophone,J.
