Punky R Meadows

Just when you think you know something, things take a turn and change your perception forever. How long can you sit inside the vacuum of your limited self-awareness and think the world is always wrong? Staring at yourself in the mirrors of your mind, everything is funhouse distortions and languid daydreams of what you think you are.

Punky with Groovious Maximus Well I've got news for you, honey. Think of how you felt when you first realized you could lie to your mama and get away with it. Telling the truth was never more difficult than it is right now. Speculate over the worst that could possibly happen, then crucify yourself to the reality that you're not really anything all that special and hundreds, thousands, even millions have been in this same place before.

Yet you're not going to find solace in the plastic arms of shimmering idols on your television or computer screen. No single person holds what it is you want. No human being could own it, although we all know some people seem to have it. Nobody sees the true impact of their person through the eyes of a fool, and we're all about as foolish as fools can be sometimes. Stop fooling yourself. Take a step back and look at your position on the mountain. Are you really as high as you think you are, or are you simply passing through another bed of clouds on your ascent to heightened awareness?

But there is hope. I take comfort in the fact that everybody goes through this at some point in their time on this plane, and when we ask the right question, we get the right answer. So when you're trudging up the mountain, and the weight gets to be too much, look around and gather strength from the rest of us struggling up the cliffs with you. Taking off your solitary confinement shroud is the first step to the real deal…only when we stop pretending to be something we're not can we become everything we're capable of.
