• Yup, controllable. After the first note it's a drop back into my forte, I feel good, I'm home, I feel good.
• It was... I knew that was what I wanted to do and I had the chance to have parents willing to help me open this book of dream and to try to give me the tools and help me realizing my dream, finally. My mother wrote my first song, which is so impressive for me, still today. My parentsdidn't go to school. They write the way they hear, but at the same time, they have all the talents in the world. They are very generous, they raised a family of 14 children with nothing, but at the same time with everything.
• "I think that generosity is the most important thing and it was given to us and we have to try to benefit from it. We have to try to take it and build something around that."
• I don't even remember the title but it was... umm... it was about... I don't remember but it was something like this (singing): "Donnez-moi un peu de fil, des aiguilles et du coton, il n'en faut pas plus pour reparer un coeur en pieces" (Give me a little bit of thread, some needles and a piece of cotton, it doesn't take more than that to repair a broken heart). It was a simple song and I was only 5 years old. This song was a big hit in Quebec and we'd learn all the popular songs on the radio and sing them.
• It is a loving continuity. I met Jean-Jacques, we fell in love, we decided to live a moment together, and it was so amazing that we decided to simply extend it. So, it was not to try to do better. …the album "D'eux" is the album "D'eux" and it will always remain the album "D'eux". It's a first kiss, it's "the first time we meet". It's a first. Nothing in the world should take away the emotion and the good times from that album. The new one is something else. I can't tell you it's better nor that it's more beautiful. I'd rather leave it to you, the public, to decide whether you like it better or not, or whether or like it less or not, should you decide to get into this kind of emotion. All I can say is that it is a continuous love affair with him, along with a great pleasure.
• But I didn't ask anything to Jean-Jacques. I let him get inspired, everyday, from what's happening in everyday life. I didn't ask him: "write me a song about the ills". He(Goldman) learned about me through some of my interviews and the times we met. He got to know me through some moments during a concert. And through it all he perceives me a certain way. That's how he got to learn about me, and still does. He writes about that too. Because we know each other well now, I think Jean-Jacques knows that I am touched by with everything that's happening in the world. When you are comfortable with yourself then others' sadness touches you. I'd like fix everything up and change the world... a lot of people would like to change the world but it doesn't happen overnight and one person alone can't do it. And I think that the more I hear myself talking about misery in the world that I would like the world to have no borders, no war, no sick children, no suffering; if only loving each other was sufficient, if it was only sufficient to love, I would make this world a dream one, an eternal one. So I would like the world, the whole wide world be as happy as I am, living in harmony without any suffering.
• It has a simple and soft music with a strong subject matter for lyrics. I am convinced a lot of people live waiting for their soul-mate, waiting for this impossible love.

• I never even thought about it. I wasn't nervous for one second. In Quebec, I feel like I'm their child. I grew up in front of them. They know everything about me. The first  interview I did, I said I wanted to be a singer, to sing for as many people as I can and sing in different languages. They knew that." I don't want to sound pretentious in saying this, but they were so proud of everything I was accomplishing when I was very young, and they wanted the best for me. They'd been supporting me since day one."
• I never really understood that, because I never really thought of it. I'm not the kind of  person who asks a lot of questions about anything. I don't question life. I live it everyday. I had a dream when I was five years old. I wanted to be a singer. I still have the same dream."

They don't even know who's singing it, but it's great. Everybody's singing the song. . . Then the next one -- eeewww. . . That's it. That's hard to follow. But I think it's the perfect career I've had. That I'm still having. . .
• I've had so much great stuff. The way that I grew up. What my parents gave to us. What my parents gave to me. The foundation I've had in my life. Makes me strong today. I've received some real, true values- waking up every morning. . Thanking God you have your health. . . I'm very solid and very strong. I feel wonderful about growing up, getting older. I can be more in control. So when the pressure is there, I feel it. But I'm not gone. I'm here. My feet are on the ground. And I thank my parents for that. They gave me a very solid foundation. I feel the earth, and I hope I'll feel the earth for the rest of my life."
• Music helped me to go through my happiness, go through my sadness, my worries, my dreams. That's why I'm making music. Because, you know, I don't write my songs. But, through my music, I can travel very much. I can let me emotions come out. Because with words, it's difficult to express things. But with music, it's easier to understand. I think that's why music is very, very powerful. It helps a lot of people go through some very, very difficult times."

They can't accept that there is nothing  wrong and that we are the happiest people in the world. "
