Virginia Smith was born in Atlanta, Georgia on January 16, 1924
She and her family moved to a farm in north Alabama, Where she grew up.
On June 18, 1943, Virginia got run over by a city bus.
She spent 13 1/2 months in the hospital and 2 1/2 years on crutches.
During her stay in the hospital, a lady wrote a poem about her.
It was then that she got her inspiration and decided she wanted to be a songwriter.
She married and had two daughters, Angela and Cindy.
After her two daughters were grown and married, Virginia met a fine man, who was retired from the railroad.

Her first song
" God Will Take Care of the Crippled"
was never recorded, but other songs such as
"My Jesus, He Can"
"The Weeeping Prophet"
and
"Singing A Country Girl Song" '
have been recorded by regional artist.
She is the owner of Cindy Records, which she started in 1976.
Her publishing company, Mojoey's Music, became a reality in August 1992, When it was accepted by ASCAP
and licensed by the the State of Florida.
