Music of poetry, within the written word
Greetings and thank you for visiting my site. My name is Reg Argue, and I am bring forth some of my poetry, which I hope you will enjoy. The poetry you are about to read spans many different categories. I find poetry is a beautiful collection of words. Also I love to write songs and I am presently working on a novel.

Angels That We Miss

Where were the angels?
As the innocent were torn from our midst
From an action, we would never dream possible to happen in our times
So now the days grow colder all around us
And no longer will we be able to hear their sweet laughter
As they filled the air
Or will we be graced with their smile
As they lit up each room they were in
Or will we be able to see them grow into young adults before our eyes
For sadly their light has been extinguished
So now they sing in an angelic choir
As they gaze down to watch us from above
So never will they truly leave our side
Always they will be in our hearts
In our minds, as if they were forever young
Now they peacefully sleep, until we all meet again.

Why Wait

Our dreams shall be realized
If we would reach for the light
If we would stand above the rest
And learn how to walk on the sky
Forgive our fellow men for any wrong doing
And always bend down to assist the ones
Who have fallen along the way on the path of life
Never take for granite what we have
For all of the worldly possession we have
We can not take with us when we die
We can only leave with what we came into the world with
However people will still remember us in their minds
And they will live their lives helping others
For they have learned the gift of gratitude and love
From a helplessly innocent child's eyes
Is far better than all the money in the world

The Mark That We Leave In Life

The wind of time whirls by, as it flashs in front of my face
Unfolding the past present and future to my mind
Showing my destiny that has already come and what is yet to come forth
Although never does the wind stop, allowing me to revel in my victories or anguish in my defeats.
For I am here for only a small ripple in the spectrum of time
While I am here it is up to me to show the world that I have been here.

Whispering Times

We lay our eyes upon the skies
To a place that is so far away
To a place where the wind does blow
As it is whistling through the tall grass in the field.
Filling the air with the sweet pollen from the flowers
Caress our noses with the sensation of spring
Helping us dream when the world is falling down
So we take this time to remember a place from long ago
A place that lies deep within our minds
A place that long ago we called our home

Creatures Of God

Who will talk to the raven
As he flies alone in the sky
Why does the eagle no longer allow us to see threw his eyes?
As he swores so high in amongst the clouds
Why does the beaver no longer tell the truth?
Only answering in riddles to the questions that we ask him
Who will protect the bears?
As men with weapons invade his land every year
So are we willing to reconnect ourselves to the creatures of god?
Or our we on a one way path
With no way off but a disastrous end

Live

Looking back as my life flashes in front of my eyes
I realize that things change as each year goes on by
Things seem to be bleaker with each day passing by
But I say be thankful for each day as it passes
Be thankful for each moment of joy
Live each day as if it was your last
To its fullest until it has passed
In the end you can say that you have lived your life your way
To its fullest you have lived
Knowing that you have no more to give

No Longer Her Child

Sadness did come the day I was no longer her child
No longer will I be recognizable in her eyes
No longer will she remember me, as the little child, who she once held in her arms
Or will she be able to remember me as the little girl, who had skinned her knees
As she was teaching me how to ride my bike for the first time
Or will she be able to remember me as the little lady, who brought home straight A's on my report card
Also never again will she remember the first time she taught me how to drive a car
Or how breath taking I appeared in my wedding gown on my wedding day
But most important, never will she be able to remember the day my first child was born
And how she bragged to everyone she knew on the phone
So now she will not be there when my children grow up
For her mind has left, leaving the shell of a body behind

Angel In My Eyes

Send down in our midst not too long ago
I can remember whipping tears from your eyes
It seemed like just you learned how to ride your bike
Now looking at your picture, I do not know why you were taken from me
I can still remember the pain that grew in your eyes each day
I felt helpless not knowing what to do or say
So now I sit in a room of darkness
Sometimes I swear I can still smell your fragrance of perfume in the air
As in my mind I hear the back door open and close
Although I then sadly realize you are gone away
Now no one can take the pain out of my soul
As my blood does run ice cold
Sadly my angel has been torn from my life
So now my tears do quell up, as the pain does constantly bubble up from inside
As I want my sweet angel to be there one more time
So I can say how much I really loved you
And how you were the angel in my eyes

Gone But Not Forgotten

Sleep little angels in your beds, as you are resting
Such proud and tall people, you all once were
Gently you are all tucked in, with a blanket covering all of you
As your eyes and ears are turned up towards heaven above
No longer do you suffer from the sorrows inside your souls
So sleep little angels in your beds
With peaceful thoughts in your heads
Alone you all will no longer be
Eternal peace you all are now enjoying
Never again will you watch your people being slaughtered like cattle
As you all were standing by, there was nothing you could do
Just because you were different from the settlers
So sleep little angels in your beds
So long ago you left this place
Way before my grandfather's date of birth
Sadly your race is gone from the earth
To early you were torn from this place
Only allowing people to learn a little about your culture and way of life
But never will we forget about the Beothucks
For if we forget about them, sooner or later it will happen again
And at that time people will cry and shout out loud
"Why did no one stop this slaughter before it began."

Mother Nature Does Cry In Her Sleep

Once the range and us were one
Our long hair would blow in the breeze
We would be able to talk to the raven and buffalo
Swore high in the sky with the eagles
And hunt in the open ranges with the wolves
The elders were our teachers
Passing on the wisdom, from through out all times, through legends and songs
Respecting every part of nature
For all of it belongs to mother earth
Then that fateful day came when strangers came from a far off place
Teaching us of their ways
No longer can we have the open range, for it no longer exists
Buffalo, like us, are no longer allowed to run free on the range
Now we awake to a New World
Where mother earth is no longer respected
So cry she does in her bed while she sleeps

Treasures Of Life

Glancing upon a crystal ball
I see my future glimmering towards my eyes
Showing my pit falls and triumphs, that lays before myself now
The struggles, which I have had to endure
To arrive at this point, have been immense
The river of life has many hidden currants within its path
Pulling myself off my course, which I must travel in life
Sending myself into endless darkness within my travels
Adjusting my course to the currants
I see the treasures, that I can claim as my own
Within my reach, they all lay
How bright and dazzling they are appear to be
Way beyond my wildest dreams and expectations
So no longer can the world call me a dreamer
Now, I am in control of my own end

To See A Dream

Come along with me as I dream
I will take you to many roads
What beautiful sights we will see
The ride we will experience will have many ups and downs
People will call me a dreamer for what I want to do
Only they will be surprised when I finish what I set out to do
So do not question where we are going
Just sit back and enjoy the ride of my dreams

Opportunity Of Life

Struggling against the currants in the river of life
I have seen the land of opportunity
The land of the future
And the land of the past
From the beginning of time to the end of time it will always be there
As it blows past people as if they were not even there
It has been here along time compared to mankind
It blows in the mountains, the seas and the tress
For it is the random wind blowing everywhere and no where at once

Dreams Of Hope

Gently the wind does whisper through the trees
As the sound of the music does caress my mind
Taking me back to younger days
Where the worries of the world were not my own
A time of peace and understanding amongst all men
Where the hope of the future laid at our feet
Nothing was out of our grasp in our minds or souls
I still look back upon those days with thoughts of fondness and longing
Wishing the days were still in our times

Symbol Of A Nation

What a beautiful sight you have been
Fluttering in the wind
Showing off your symbolism to all
Freedom and equality for all
Whenever people see you, you can hear them say, how much they love you when they are away
So what a beautiful sight you have been
I will never forget the time I first laid eyes upon you
What a little child I was, barely old enough to walk
Still from time to time, I regain that feeling of pride in my heart
Through out the years you have remained the same
Still standing for what you did, when they first unveiled you
So thank the men, who design you so long ago
For they gave us a national pride
To look at with pride and honor, where ever we go
Telling people you are not only our flag but also who we are

The sight of war is not as glorious as it is made out to be.

Christmas Day

Christmas day has come at last
Gently the snow is being released from heaven above
Caressing the ground with a pure white blanket
Covering the puddles of blood that came from our fallen comrades
Slowly it takes our mind away from this man made hell
Back to our loves ones at home far away
Giving the sensation of peace and tranquility to us all
In the distance you can hear singing, which has replaced the sound of guns
As a peaceful harmony is in the air, and the conflicts and disputes are put aside for this day
Flying shrapnel has been replaced with chocolate and cookies, coming from the otherside
Our differences do not seem too far apart
We start to realize our enemy, is not a monster
That our leaders made them out to be
Instead they have a lot of likes and dislikes similar to us
Instantly sadness does cloud my mind
With the knowledge that today is a special day
And as soon as the sun does set
Our ways of war will continue on
Filling my mind with horrific sights
To terrifying to believe or write about on a page of paper
Only ending when that day does come
When a truce is finally called
Or if the worst does come into play
Until the next Christmas day

O Why O Why

The banging from the weapons echoed in the valley
The smell of gunpowder consumed the air
People were dying all around
Crying could be heard from everywhere
Looking down I see a man
Looking closer I see that it was I
O why O why did I have to die?
For this war made no sense in our minds or in our souls
Disputes between leaders was its cause
Now I lay on the ground
To young I have lost my life
All the experiences which I have had, have been too few
O why O why did I have to die?
For no mark I have left on this earth
Dying in this war so far from home
My life has now finished
And no longer will I be able to see my home
Or smell the flowers that grow in the fields
Now my unborn children will cry themselves to sleeep
And lost loves will now be with a stanger
For never will I been able to hear the sweet breath of the ones I love
Or feel the soft touch of a kiss
So no longer will the sound of the ocean echo in my ears
Or will my eyes be full of the beauty coming from the world
But I wonder if we have learned from this war
Or does another innocent person have to die so far from home
In a needless fight
From a cause that makes no sense

Freedom One Day

As we stood in line that cold October morning so long ago
Against an enemy, who was so strong
Smoke filled the air
And crying could be heard all around
No one dared move a muscle
For fearing the Red Coats would have their way
One by one we fell with another talking our place
With tremdous desire to over throw the tyrant, who had rule us for too long
We raised our weapons, and fired them at our foe, who disappeared and reappeared
Through the musket haze
Over the weapons one could hear yelling coming from our lines
Up and down people were saying
"You can chain us up
And even defeat us now
But there is one thing you can of
That sooner or later you will be removed from this place
A place with endless fields or green
And fences made of stone
And on that day people will hear us yell
Ireland is free at last!"

The Trench

Glancing at the trench we have dug
Bloody colors do come bubbling up from it
Where the earth was once a field
Now it is all a giant mess
Trenches and barbwire are everywhere
So no longer does the flowers grow
Or the bees roam freely across the land
For the only thing that grows here right now
Are the puddles of blood, which are everywhere
Once there were many of us
Now our numbers have been cut in half
So now we must use the bodies of our fallen friends
To protect us from the flying debris
How lucky our fallen friends have been
For no longer do they have to fight with the rats for their meals
And no longer do they have to suffer
As the constant pounding of weapons fills the air
When darkness sets each night, we pray an invisible piece of metal
Or a bullet from an unseen sniper does not take us
So now I sit and write this poem
I hope this nightmare will soon cease
And we are taken back to our homes, never more to fight

Dreams Of A Soldier

How long I have dreamed of this peace, which is now at hand
Countless nights I have slept in mud up to my knees, while we wrapped our legs in sandbags just to survive
As fire rained down from above
And hot lead whistled by my head
How long I have dreamed of this peace
As I witnessed my comrades falling one by one, dying where they landed, remaining forever young
How long I have dreamed of this peace
So I can stand up and stretch my legs and not worry about a sniper picking me off
How long I have dreamed about this peace
So I am able to return to my home, where I will be able to hug and tell my family hove much they really meant to me
How long I have dreamed about this peace
So I can see my old friends again on the street corner, and spend time dreaming about how things use to be
However sadly I will never be able to escape these past four years, for they will remain forever embedded within my mind

Memories Of A Soldier

Shall we remember
The young and old men, who fought for our country
Shall we remember
The look in their eyes and the fight in their veins
Knowing that some of them would not be coming back home.
Shall we remember
Where they came from, far and wide
From coast to coast, fighting under one flag, one country and one belief
Shall we remember
The ones who fell
For never again will they be able to feel the touch of a child, the smell of a summer day or the cold winter wind biting at their faces
For they have given the ultimate sacrifice
So shall we remember
These men who have given their lives, so we do not have to

Gone Forever

A phoenix has risen away from us
With a bright powerful glowing light does he rise
Leaving us without thoughts of tomorrow
Pulling away from us now
For what has caused him to turn away from here?
There Could only be one answer to this question
For we did drive him out of here
With our thoughtlessness of many things
If we could think of what we did
We would know what a beautiful creature, we have driven away

Life is full of unexpected paths which we have to travel. I hope that everyone has enjoy, the poems which I have written, and shared with you. Drop me a line at my email address telling me, what you thought of the poems.

Living On The Streets

Will someone help me?
Sitting at the street corner with my hand out
No matter what time of year it is
People walking by turn their heads, trying not to look at me
But why do they do this
For I have committed no crimes
I have just fallen through the cracks
As the cold winter wind hits me, I only have this old ragged blanket to keep me warm
Why does no one help me?
For once I was the same as them
Now I am sitting here with only the clothes on my back
Sometimes I wonder if God is listening
Other times I just sit and cry
Why doesn't anyone help me?

Don't Judge Me

Don't judge me on the color of my skin
Don't judge me on the clothes I wear
Don't judge me on the thoughts I have
For you never know what lies inside of the package that stands in front of you
No one really knows anyone else fullest potential
Which lies inside of others minds
So good or bad I have lived my life
With each day sliding on by
Today and yesterday have come and gone
Although I know tomorrow will be another day
More full of promise than ever before

Gift From Heaven

Flying like an angel opening its wings
Like a pure white dove sent down from heaven above
Fly with the innocence of a new borne babe
Do not look back upon your life
For you have brought peace to everyone you have touched
So do not worry about tomorrow
For I have seen the ocean so blue
So fly like an angel departing this world for another

Billy McGee

Old Billy McGee was his name
He would ride on the back of a horse each day
With the wind in his face and the dirt in his teeth
He would break horse, rustle cattle, and even break the occasional stray
For he did not see anything against the law in what he did
Only providing a service is what he thought
Just moving Cattle from here to there, with just a little money gracing his hands
Not thinking he was hurting the cattier
Thinking they had plenty of heads, so what were a few to them anyway?
Those in the end it did catch up with him, for rustling cattle was a hanging offence
And hang he did

Why Take The Beauty From Our Eyes

Slowly the snow clutched his body, as he tried to pull himself along
As a trail of blood came from his hind legs
Helplessly he tried to stand up on his legs
But sadly they keep giving out
With a look of total defenselessness, he observes a set of lights circling around him, as he laid there
In the distance he could see his son, standing staring at him
With a spurt of energy he frantically tried to keep the attention on only him
So his son could get away
So what was the purpose of this?
Who is the animal in all this?
Is it the deer, who laid dying helplessly in the snow?
Or it is the man, who left the deer there to die?

My Realm

Welcome to my realm
Where good and evil meet
Where light and darkness unite
Carefully, you walk the line, trying not to fall either way
Welcome to my realm
Where people dream
Dream of excitement and joy
Or dream of a nightmare to terrifying to believe
Welcome to my realm
Where I am in control
For I have the power over your thoughts, while you are in my domain

Glory Up On The Hill

Close your eyes as we begin our trip
Put your trust in me
For I will lead the way
Through the valley of desuetude and dispare
Into a hill top of self satisfaction and wealth
So follow me and we will go
However do not stray from my steps
For tried and proven they have been
If a long the way you are afraid of a little hard work
And you open your eyes
Then you will fall into the valley along the path
For I can only give you the tools and show you the way
It is up to you to put in the effort and follow me

Memories Of The Ones That We Lost

Trapped underneath the earth
With no light to see
The air is getting harder with every breath, as it slowly grips tighter and tighter in our lunges
Looking around I can see all of the men, each with a different tale to tell about their lives
So now no longer will they be able to see their children grown up, or see their love ones smiling
And tell them how much they cared
Never again will they be able to see the light of day
Or hear the gentle waves, as they are caressing the shore on a beautiful summer day.
O God please help us understand why this has to happened to us
The people trying to rescue us, will not be able to reach us in time
So we will forever remain buried a mile below the ground
But never should we be forgotten
Always keep us in your memories until you can join us again
