Lost Weekend - London Arena Sunday 02/07/2000....

Therapy? Arrived on stage at 17:00, to a good welcome from the crowd, roomers were that they thought they were not heavy enough for this gig. Maybe this was true considering the rest of the bill. But certain people were there just because of Therapy? and the amount of Therapy? T-shirts being worn proved that..., so that seemed a bit harsh.
The set played I must admit was mainly from Troublegum, I suppose to please the not so dedicated members of the crown, who may have never seen Therapy? before or had only heard the so called popular mainstream stuff. Do I recall Andy saying he hated playing this stuff at a previous gig, and was giving these tracks back to the fans..?.
The sound throughout the set was of mixed quality, screeches and cracks were common, once again the bass kept shagging up. Will I ever be at a gig where this doesn't happen...?, 'Hay Mr bass man play the fucking bass', Michael buy some decent gear or kill your roadies...:) how many Therapy? songs can you play without bass..?. But to make it even worse during this set also Martin's guitar played up..hear the Woolworth quote hear.
Songs were dedicated to Kurt Cobain (Die Laughing) and Michael's penis (He's Not That Kind Of Girl) as normal and to the Crown (Breaking The Law)
Overall not the best gig in the world, the sound was shite compared to the other bands Andy seemed a little subdued and Michael, get those fucking bass guitars sorted. But if this is your first live exposure to Therapy? believe me go to a proper show and be amazed by the full affect.
On a final note respect to Headliners Skunk Anansie, shit did they rock, the sound was superb and Skin's voice, un-bladdy-believable. It was just like listening to a CD
