Support Band - The Answer
Arrived at the venue around 19:00, doors were supposed to open at 19:30, so it was deserted. Then noticed three familiar faces at the back entrance by a white van, it was T?, the wife happened to have a couple of old show tickets in her purse so it was the ideal time to have a quick chat with the guys and get the tickets signed. First thing Andy noticed about me was my leather jacket a 1994 German T? Tour Jacket, and said what a great jacket, the guy's then signed the tickets and then we left them to go and get some food.
The Answer an Irish band reminded me a little of Thin Lizzy, played a competent set, very loud and tight, but I felt a little repetitive. Later then expected at about 22:10 Therapy? hit the stage, this was their last UK show of the year, so Andy said they were going to do a bit of playing around. They then continued to play 3 acoustic songs, very unusual and I couldn't see anything, was this going to be an acoustic show. No Meat Abstract was then ripped out full volume and the crowd went mad. This venue is very small, but the audience were well into this show, the atmosphere was electric. If you were there you will now what I'm talking about a virtual venue pit, not many places to hide tonight. The set-list was rock through, awesome as usual, Punishment Kiss was in there what an excellent track, and as Neil hinted on WOM during the oncore they played the Thin Lizzy cover 'Waiting For An Alibi', two old favourites to end the show with, during which Michael jumped into the crown, nearly loosing his bass, then when he got back on stage Neil used it as a drum stick to smash up his kit. Great show, great night, I even got a pick used by Andy during the show, rock on Therapy? in 2006.
