Support Bands - Kidnapper Bell, The Sound Explosion
'The fast bastard is back' Andy said, and so were Therapy?, and Diamond Dave. The venue was packed, I was standing only a few metres in front of sound desk, do you get smaller with age..? as everyone else seemed taller than me making if difficult to see. The venue was packed which showed good support for the band, thus no chance for me of getting a better viewing location. I didn't think the sound was that great especially when the newer tracks were being played, very very bassy, unless they were meant to be like that and if so they were spot on. In contrast the sound for the older tracks of the setlist sounded really good, i.e. Potato Junkie, Die Laughing etc. From what I saw Neil as ever was immense on the drums but Andy's playing on occasions was a bit dodgy, maybe his mind just wasn't on it as he even talked about it being Wednesday at on point. Maybe as the tour progresses the new tracks will become tighter and the sound quality improve, but never the less is was great to hear the entire new album live and to see the guy's live again after a prolonged break was great, and a signed copy of the new single made the shitty journey well worth it.
