Learning how to dance is like every other thing
in life, if you practice you get better. So take lessons or practice at least twice a week.
Dancing with multiple partners and watching other people dance will not only improve your dancing, but will also let you appreciate the elegance of ballroom. If you are shy or nervous about people observing you while you dance, then the middle of the dance floor is a good place to get covered up by the other dancers. Keep your head up! Not only does it look more elegant and compliment your dancing, but you can look out for oncoming couples and avoid embarrasing collisions. The woman should always precede the man to the dance floor and at the conclusion of the dance the man should escort the lady back to her seat. The last tip is simply to ENJOY yourself, Socialize and meet others dancers. So whether you dance for competition or just for pleasure, just have FUN ;-)
