Change the Tide - written by Ian Haug and Bernard Fanning.
This song is about drugs, it is quite obvious - "my will is gone, my resolve is dry". "And there's anger in her veins" - an obvious reference to shooting up heroin.
The line "I'd rather do without than wrap my love around a woman I don't understand" is a statement about their love for simple chicks.
"I know I'm not too late, I may have left it till tomorrow, but I'm not old and grey?" is their excuse for being lax. Obviously this lyric was written a long time ago (only joking).
Blind to Reason - written by Bernard Fanning.
This song is quite simply about cricket and a conflict with the umpire. Bernie has been given out by the umpire, but doesn't want to accept it.
"Lessons learned Serve you well" - lessons learnt on the cricket field.
"The arrow flies To its defeat" - this is refering to the umpires finger, declaring Bernie out.
"You have no courage and you fear the truth" - the other team has bribed the umpire, they fear finding out that they are no good. The umpire doesn't have the courage to stand up and say Bernie isn't out.
"The eyes of revolution are watching you" - Bernie thinks the rest of Powderfinger are going to rebel and stand up for him and say he isn't out.
