Jesus Evermore The Same

Jesus down from heaven came,

Gave up His glory and His fame,

He healed the sick, the blind, the lame,

Took on Himself my cross of shame.

Jesus down from heaven came,

The Way of Life He did proclaim,

He is evermore the same,

And now I praise His holy name.

Jesus down from heaven came,

With the power to reclaim

Those lost in sin and guilt and shame,

When they pierced His earthly frame.

Jesus down from heaven came,

Suffered on the cross of shame,

Rose Again! The news proclaim!

Jesus, evermore the same.

Jesus gave it all up that we may gain everything. Of His own power He defeated death and now He reigns in heaven savoring the praises of His people.

I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
