Sheltered In The Rock

The storm was raging overhead,

Beneath, a troubled sea;

The blinding rain and blasts of wind

Just drove on endlessly.

Within the rocks upon the shore,

A little bird, asleep,

Did not hear the raging storm,

The rain, or troubled deep.

The bird had flown for many days

Without rest - day and night.

When he saw the storm ahead

He ceased his weary flight.

The rocks were sharp and threatening;

The storm, approaching fast.

Then in the hollow of a rock,

Peace was found at last.

The storms of life churn endlessly

And they will never cease,

But in the Rock called Jesus Christ

I've found a perfect peace.

When we "can't take it anymore", Jesus is there to give us rest and shelter, but we have to fly down through the storm to get there.  He will be waiting.

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:7
