Move your mouse over Options to display this menu:
From this menu, you can double the size to make it more visible, browse through "skins" etc. (see Part II: Playing MP3s for more information on skins). For now, click on preferences to get this:
If needed, select the Audio I/O tab to show this page. The drop down box under "Output Plug-Ins" shows "OUT_WAVE.DLL". This plug in plays music through your sound card. change it to:
OUT_DISK.DLL will write the data in wave format (44,100 / 16 bit / stereo) to your hard disk. Click on configure to select the drive or folder you want it sent to.
Once this is all done, close the dialog box and you can select the
tracks you want to uncompress in the playlist, and hit play. You won't
hear any music, but you'll see the time change, the location bar move and
other signs that the program is playing. Depending on your machine, it
should uncompress faster than real time. WinAmp can be somewhat whimsical
in assigning track numbers, so before you burn a disk, make sure the track
are in the order you want.
