Saw Day by the River (who I've heard on tape but never seen live) open up for Percy Hill (before tonight I had heard of them, but not heard them or seen them) - let me just say that DBTR is good, damn good (knew that already) but Percy Hill blew me away! Absolutely amazing. So here I am, at 2am, putting forth a grovel - ok, who's got em??? I'd really love to get some live Percy Hill so if anyone has any and would like to trade, I have lots of Salmon and Cheese to offer in return. Thanks - and by all means go see this band! -R- ------ =_NextPart_000_01BD4DD9.73DFF120 Content-Type: message/rfc822 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit From: Steve Tighe To: "negev@sover.net" Cc: "sci@netspace.org" , "Leftover@lists.colorado.edu" Subject: Re: Percy Hill (NCC/NLOSC) Date: Sun, 8 Mar 1998 12:50:55 -0500 MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Robyn Stein wrote: > Hi folks - just got back from an amazing night of music in good ol' > Burlington, Vt. Thanks - and by all means go see this band! -R- Robyn, I have a little Percy Hill. It's a bit old - my most recent show is from 11/95. I understand they've gone through a couple lineup changes (bassists, at least) so I'm not 100% sure it'll sound like what you saw this weekend. But if you're interested, let me know. I'm especially interested in picking up some '98 cheese! In compensation, I hereby make the following tape offer I've been meaning to make anyway.... SCI 10/25/97 Wetlands, NYC This is a killer show my friend Scott made with his Neumann TLM 170's, and they sound great. I've been meaning to get these out there. Unfortunately each set has a mid-jam flip in it, but I think we were able to make them relatively painless. On the first tape, the jam from Pirates > Round the Wheel has the flip in the middle, but we rewound it to the beginning of the Round the Wheel theme for the start of Side B. The second set has a cut in a relatively slow transition portion of Texas. You don't lose any music in either case. This show is excellent and well worth having despite the cuts. So I'll take the first four to respond. If you don't hear from me you didn't make it. If you get the tapes, I encourage spreading them further.
