A few friends of mine were there for it (I had to stay here at school :( and I want to see what they saw and I missed. Also, if anyone is interested in trading (especially anyone with the Variety, Atlanta 2/20 show, HINT HINT ;) or willing to B&P for that show please email me. Thanks, take it easy. Second thing, the band doesn't run the set list sight (unless someone forgot to tell me something). A kind soul set it up and did a lot of work, then probably ran into some trouble. Don't freak (this is meant for everyone who's freaking about it). If you don't like it then do it yourself. There are free web pages out there for the taking, get one and do the work. You'll quickly come to a new understanding as to why things are sometimes out of date. I do concede a year or so is a long time to be out of date, probably means the sight is no longer being managed at all. Sys op probably doesn't realize the account exists and hasn't gotten around to deleting it yet (if it's a school account, I'll put money on this). So, just ignore the sight and go about your buisness. A bunch of dates (including that one) showed up on the Pollstar Web site a few weeks ago. Almost all of them (EXCEPT for that one) have now been confirmed. As far as I know, no one's been able to confirm that one so far. Can't hear to REAL bluegrass in your area on the Raydio? Wanna get your feet stompin'? Then check out Mountain Folk Radio from Sinking Spring, PA! They have a year's worth (1 hour every week) of their bluegrass/folk/mountain music show set up on RealAudio on the Web. The 3/8/98 show kicks off with "Foggy Mountain Breakdown" by none other than Lester Flatt, Earl Scruggs, and the Foggy Mountain Boys, followed by JAMES (Bill's son) Monroe singing "Uncle Pen" (sounds just LIKE his dad!), and the classic "Rocky Top" by the Osborne Brothers. Then some Ricky Scaggs (he'll be at Merlefest too) with his band Kentucky Thunder (playing "Get Up, John" and later, "Little Maggie"). Later on (Matt take note) you'll hear some hammered dulcimer sounds, as well. Also, a round of "Dueling Banjos" (Eric Weissberg and Steve Mandell). All this kind of great "stuff" was Mark's inspiration -- you ain't heard nuttin' 'til you entice him to "duel" with another musician -- heck, I've even heard him "duel" himself, but it's been years! Then on to "Black-eyed Susie" and the Austin Lounge Lizards doing "Flat Nose, the Tree-Climbing Dog." Hey, there's something for EVERYBODY there! Now, here's a surprise (at least it was for me). I got it all going and then wanted to quit Netscape to go do something else. So I did. THE MUSIC KEPT ON PLAYING! How do I turn this damn thing off? The control window has disappeared! I'm typing on this message, and it's still playing! HELP!!! - Bryant Whoops, almost forgot to give you the URL... I finally figured out how to turn it off, AND, what's more, if I launch the RealAudio app, it's saved the addresses for the shows I've listened to before. That means I can select any of them and it cranks up right away (assuming I have a network connection of course)! It works like a CD, so you can move forward (or back) to the place you want. After a short delay to fill the buffer, it's up and running! I'm hitched up to some good speakers, and it sounds pretty good! But of course, many of you already know about this, I reckon...
