LoSerBase.txt

02/25/02 - updating a very out-of-date site with lots of new setlists. While Setlist.com hasn't appeared to get the database online yet, db.etree.org appears to have gotten serious about setlists. If you can't find it here, go look there. Tom Anderson has done a nice job of coding what is obviously a very scaleable database with setlists from zillions of bands with a connection to member music collections as well as circulating SHNs. There's nearly 80,000 setlists in there today. Regarding archived discussions -- I have 1999 and 2000 to put online someday. 1997-1998 and the end of 2001 and onward are available via the links above.

01/02/02 - Starting a new (incremental) site upgrade. Fixing some links, adding the last several months of setlists (I don't have many of them -- please post what you know to the site!). All new setlists will always be posted ASAP to this link.

04/09/01 - Well... through several massive marathon sessions and a power supply failure on my laptop -- I've managed to research and update the remainder of 2000 and the first four months of 2001. Lots of shows, a new line-up and new tunes too. I'm also talking with Setlist.com to see what we can do about duplicating LoSerBase in their 40,000+ multiband setlist database. As per my recent post to the LoS list, keeping up with Leftover's tour schedule is not easy and I'd love some assistance. I'd welcome aboard anyone interested in helping keep the database up to date (scouring the net for lists, keeping up with the LoS discussion list(s), collecting setlists off CDs and DATs, and tracking tour schedules). If you are interested and serious about it, please Email me.

11/28/00 - updated several aspects of the site -- mostly clearing out old links, updating pictures, and adding new features. The database is several months out of date and I'm compiling recent submissions for a large update in December. New site features include a setlist search feature (which is currently broken -- I'm workin' on it!) and a Live Chat. It's unlikely you'll find anyone to chat with in the Chat Room, but hey, it was easy enough to add to the site and it works pretty nicely too. All of these features are Bravenet services which are simple, but effective. My old web interface to the LoS listserver has been broken for a while (an anti-spam feature of my ISP kicked in) so I've redirected the link above to Dixie Beer and Crawdad Don's Leftover Salmon Discussion page which explains how to manually subscribe and unsubscribe well enough.

5/4/00 - Finally got around to updating the setlist database through to present. It's been a busy Spring! No other site changes alsothough I have some images I'd like to put up when I get a chance. I noticed that the Official LoS Site now has a searchable online setlist database. I don't know how much is in there or how it differs from the LoSerBase, but you should try it out if you cannot find something here.

1/6/00 - Added NYE setlist. I also added new guestbook feature that lets you post recent setlists right to this site without waiting for them to be manually entered into the database. It's a Bravenet service and it's nice, but watch out because it truncates long setlists.

1/2/00 - Happy New Year folks. Updated through to NYE and added 2000 schedule. No other major changes to site.

10/5/99 - Updated to the end of 1999 (scheduled dates). Nashville Sessions was released on 9/14/99. Go get it! Site is getting updates less than monthly now. See JamBands and the mailing list for daily updates. I'm still planning on adding a chat-room feature for up to date setlist posts and I'd like to add a gateway to the LoS list so you can read and post from here too. We'll see what happens...

7/21/99 - Added more than twenty new setlists and cleaned up the formatting of all the lists. I'm looking for a "posting board" CGI so that setlists can be posted "live" on the site. The LoS Permatree is now (sob) closed for good. Someone restart it!

6/3/99 - Updates on this site are happening approximately monthly now. See the mailing list for daily updates. Scott Holcomb has put together some great stats including "Songs by Year". Check out the LoS Stats Site.

4/23/99 - For the last month we've been working on a database version of the setlists (LoSerbase) so that statistics can be generated from it (most played song, etc.). There is now a downloadable text file version of the whole database in addition to the WWW pages that are arranged by year. Unfortunately, the HTML version of the database isn't very pretty anymore, but it's just as functional as it ever was.

3/22/99 - Added the 1999 page and updated/corrected a dozen or more other shows.

2/15/99 - Howdy folks. Jason has moved on to bigger and better things. So as of Februrary 1999 this site is operated and maintained by me. It's at a new location and look has changed a little. Let me know if there are any issues or problems -- and please excuse the messy interface glitches -- I'll clean 'em up soon enough. Always feel free to email me any additional setlists; this database is far from comprehensive! ;^D - Patrick Chase
