Following EVA-01's first battle, Gendo Ikari meets with Chairman Keel and the Seele Committee. First, they berate him for the sloppy battle and the cost of repairs to EVA-01. Secondly, they raise the point that Gendo has more responsibilities than just defeating the Angels. He is reminded that his top priority should be the advancement of the Human Enhancement Project. This is all we're told of the Project for quite a while. Makes you curious, doesn't it?
