Seele is the organization that provides
funding for NERV. Headed by Chairman Keel Lorenz, the Seele
committee keeps a close eye on the activities of NERV. Funding
for the use of the Evangelions is scarce at first, as most of the
population retains its faith in old fashioned military power. The
committee is concerned that NERV's strategy isn't as cost-effective
as it could be. There's also another project on the table that
Seele doesn't want Ikari to overlook: The Human Instrumentality
Project.
Name: Keel Lorenz
Position: Chairman of the Seele Council
Description: Lorenz isn't always happy with Ikari's methods in running NERV. He seems to have his priorities in different places than does our NERV Commander. He knows, though, that Gendo is the most qualified for the tasks at hand. Ikari will not be without a superior breathing down his neck, however, as Keel is nobody's fool and intends to remain so.
