The Cheating Girlfriend
by: Stephanie

"She's a ten."
"No, Gwen Steffani is a ten. That lady is plain 8."

AJ and Nick were in a crowdy restaurant. They both wore caps and sunglasses. Those were supposed to be their disgusing tools. They were argueing about a woman Nick crashed into which he accidentally just spilled her Coke over her dress. After arguieing over a thing that somewhat seemed useless, they ordered their fave drinks and glanced around through the crowd. Two girls, around the ages of 14 to 15, came and asked for autographs. Nick scribbled, AJ scribbled. The girls left with a satisfied look.

"Hey look!" AJ pointed to one direction somewhere in the crowd.
"What?" Nick followed AJ's pointing. He caught  the sight of a beautiful dark-haired, model-look woman. Nick stared at AJ and grinned.

"Oh you think she's a ten? She's nowhere near Gwen's figure."
AJ groaned. "No, I'm not talking about scores! By the way, she's a 9-er. Now where were we? Oh yea. Don't you think she looks familiar?"
Nick scratched his not ichy head.
"Nope. Maybe she's a fan, or maybe she went to our show last night."
"Could be," AJ paused. Thinking. Then his face turned brighter. "Man! She was backstage yesterday! She was with one of us, which I can't remember right now..."
Nick's memory was still blank. "With who, AJ? Howie, perhaps?"
"Uh-uh. Not D."
"Brian?"
AJ rolled his eyes. "Do you think she's Brian's type?"
"Sincerely, no."

AJ suddenly snapped his fingers together. "She's Kevin's new girlfriend!". Then he gave himself a triumphat smile.
Nick bursted into loud laughter. "And we didn't even recognize her! I feel sooo terrible!"
"Hah. Can't blame us for that! Kevvy gets a new girlfriend every two months." AJ said, his face was still filled with satisfactory.
"Ouch! That often?"

Nick and AJ watched the lady. She didn't noticed them. She moved quickly through the crowd. A man came from behind and hugged her. Nick and AJ froze. Their eyes widened and their mouths opened in shock. The lady was now kissing that guy intimately.

"Let's just don't tell Kev," Nick suggested.
"But he gotta know!" AJ said in disagreement. "I mean, that woman is playing around with another guy while she's dating Kev? Kev should know about it! He shouldn't like her and treat her nice."
"Yea but Kevvy's relationships don't last long. You said it yourself. He'll break up with her after 2 months dating. Just like the others," Nick explained his vision.
"Hey I was joking about that 2 months dating. What if Kevin's serious with the lady?" A worried look came to AJ.
"I don't know. My point is, he won't be hurt too much if we don't tell him. Kevvy's gonna finds out sooner or later."
"Oh and we stay quiet until he does?" AJ said, sarcastically.

"Erm.. I have a suggestion," Brian chipped in. He was listening to the conversation and watching TV at the same time. "We leave Kev and the girl. Don't bother them. Instead, we after the man who was with her at the restaurant, and kill him. Whaddaya say?"
AJ and Nick laughed. Then AJ turned serious. "B-rok's right! Let's get the guy and tell him to back off!" Brian shook his head. "I was kidding, Bone." AJ calmly answered, "I'm being very serious."

He looked at Nick, waiting for some sign of approval. Nick shrugged.
"AJ, we can't go out there and start trouble!" Brian warned.
"What trouble?" Howie asked, entering the room with a concerned look. Then Nick told him everything. Howie, being the peacemaker in the group, lectured AJ about what problems they'd get into.

They all sat down and talked. They finally reached final decision.

AJ, Nick, Howie and Brian were standing in front of Kevin's hotel room. They knocked the door.

"AJ, you're Mr. Talkative. You talk to him." Brian ordered in a childish voice.
"You should do that! After all, you're his cousin." AJ argued defensively.

Nick and Howie shook their heads, looking at AJ and Brian acting like little kids. Howie told them they should all go inside and talk to Kev.

Kevin was surprised seeing all four of them suddenly bursted into his room with dead looks upon each face.
"Hey guys. What's going on?" he questioned.
Brian hummed slowly, "We've got it goin' on for years..." before receiving dirty looks from AJ and Howie.

Howie thought for a while. If Brian's the one to tell Kev about this, he'd came out joking instead. If Nick's going to do this, he'd came out with the whole truth and Kev would possibly get a heart attack. And AJ... he'd tell him in a very harsh way and that'd gonna drive Kev crazy. So Howie settled into a comfortable seat and started, "There's something we gotta tell you, and this is not going to be fun."

Nick sat on the chair next to Brian. AJ and Howie were already there, all eating their breakfast quietly.

"I can't sleep last night, thinking about poor Kev," Nick struck up a conversation.
AJ looked up from his plate. "Me too."
Brian took a deep sigh, "I can't imagine if you guys come up to me and say, 'Yo Brian! We spotted your honey fench-kissing another male in a bar!' "
Nick chuckled. "That sounds so insensitive, Frick!"
Howie smiled. "Last night we brought the news to him in a sensitive way," his smile vanished. "But I still feel kinda bad."

Kevin walked into the diner hall. He pulled an empty chair and sat next to Howie. His face was pale. The guys felt uneasy.

After a long uninterupted eating, Kevin finally opened his sealed lips. He mouthed, "Thank you."
He said it with a deep, calm voice.

They all looked up from their foods. Kev looked sincere about what he just said.

Kevin went on, "I know how hard it was for you guys to deliver that out to me last night. So, thanks."

They gazed at each other and smiled. They proceeded their breakfast noisily.

"I told ya, honesty is the best policy," Howie declared, much to himself.
Brian, with a mouthful of macaroni and cheese, told Howie, "Honesty brought Kevin a huge shadow under his eyes! I guess that's not good."
"And I think that's a chuggle of fat appearing on his belly," Nick said, giving a violent smile.
Brian warmed things up. "He eats a lot to get over his stress."
Everybody laughed. Kevin pretended to be hurt. "Hey, hey. What is this? A slagging competition? It ain't making me feel any better, you know."

AJ cleared his throat, getting everyone's attention. "So Kevvy baby, what are you going to do next?"
Kevin noticed AJ was talking about his cheating girlfriend.
"I'll meet her this afternoon and tell her it's over."
Kevin seemed pretty easy saying it. Making the others stared at him suspiciously.

He put on a devilish grin. "Last night, after you guys told me about the bad news, I decided to take a stroll outside the hotel. So I did, and guess what!" He paused for an effect. "I met a beautiful girl whose face reminds me of Liv Tyler!" He stopped. Flowed in his imagination, obviously. "And I have her phone number. I think I'm going to give her a call right now! I mean, I'm free tonight, why not?"

Brian, Nick, Howie and AJ stared him in admiration.
Brian blurted, "He's quick!"
AJ nodded. "I think we should give him a new nickname."
Howie added cynically, "Yeah, like 'Don Juan' would be perfect."
Nick laughed. "Mr Body Beautiful has done it again!"
