"Abba The Movie" is a report about Abba in Australia during their concert tour in 1977 with a lot of live performances and of course lots of Abba hits.

Between all of this you see a dream with a lot of romantic scenes, dreams about Abba.

Abba was in that time very popular in Australia, every family had at least one record of Abba at home.
Most of this Abba story was filmed in Australia but also in Sweden.

The director Lasse Hallstrom and his crew followed Annifrid, Agnetha, Benny and Bjorn trough whole Australia.
They filmed a lot during the eleven concerts Abba gave in Australia.
There were 160.000 fans at the concerts.

Between the performances and all the Abba hits, played a story about an Australian disc jockey Ashley (Robert Hughes).
He wants to make an exclusive interview with Abba but it's not so easy for him to do that.

He try's to keep in touch with Abba but everything he does, it won't work but he keeps trying and trying.
He followed Abba everywhere, through the wardrobes and hotel passages but every time he's to late.
One night he fall a sleep and began to dream about Abba.

In his dreams he had the most wonderful time with Abba.
He's dreaming that he's winning the golf game from Abba and that they invited him for a nice picnic.

Agnetha and Annifrid giving him an interview and Bjorn & Benny went for a drink with him.
He made also a horse ride with the girls and has a dinner with all the four members in a chic restaurant.

Unfortunately it's a dream, in reality Agnetha, Bjorn, Benny and Annifrid have no time for him.
In the end of the movie when he gave up hope, he finally met them in an elevator and gets the interview of his life.

Lasse Hallstrom filmed almost six weeks and made a 90 minutes "Abba Movie".
 

The record "The Album" was released on the same time as the film with a lot of songs from "The Movie" on it.
