There are people who actually believe that MIDI is a headache and just plain sucks. They obviously prefer RealAudio or MP3, but the sound quality of RealAudio files often leaves a lot to be desired - not to mention the player, it's just too liable to stop in the middle, and then you have to start from the beginning again - and MP3 files are huge, to say the least. Also, they're most often illegal. MIDI's are different - for one, they are not a genuine copy of the song, they are their own creations and exist for the sole purpose of reminding us of a song (plus you don't have to hear the artist sing :-). That is, if you only have QuickTime - or even worse, the Microsoft Media Player (it sucks like a tornado). With some extra equipment, your MIDI files can be made to sound almost like recordings. For the second, a MIDI doesn't contain any sound in itself, only instructions to the machine how to play it. Your computer does the whole job. Therefore, copyright is a tad different for MIDIs, to the benefit of everybody. Of course, it's not inexistant.
These MIDI's are from various sources on the net. If someone holds copyright on some of these, please let me know.

Karaoke section
There exist MIDI's where the person who made them consiously or unconsciously - whichever - omitted the melody, or at least it's very hard to hear. These MIDI's are a disaster to those who don't know the melody, but perfect for people who know both the melody and the lyrics and want to try and sing it only with background music. That's the reason why I've separated these from the rest. This doesn't mean, though, that they are the most suited for .KAR-files - that's a matter of taste. There are probably melody versions to the more common of these songs, in which case I've either been to lazy to look for them, or found the me lodyless version to be of better quality.

Mystery MIDI:s
It happens, that you come over some really interesting stuff, but you just don't know what it's called or who made it, and that's sorta irritating! If you think you know who made these files and/or their names, please mail me, so I can credit the makers. My goal is, with your help, to make this section gradually disappear. See it as an intellectual challenge! (And thanks to M for coining the term!)
